The guy seems to have gone missing from the show!

This is basically a plea to save Shantanu Khandelwal before he gets lost between Anand and Rahul. He IS THE LEAD of this show.

His character as of now unfortunately is the least watchable.

Why?

The screenplay for KT's character has been nothing but a joke since the morning after his confrontation with Sunny and his friends at the cafe (January 27th or so)

It has only gone downhill ever since

I dont mean KT is missing, I realize he is on vacation currently.

I mean Shaan the character and the depth of it

Why do his scenes lack the PUNCH?

Why do his lines sound unimpressive and lame?

Why does he do pretty much the same things day after day?

Drive the RV or think up "juvenile plans" to impress wife?

Does he really NOT understand the gravity of the accusation he has made? Is it so that Rahul can be shown romancing girlfriend number two? Is that why the lead guy is being cannibalized?

Does he really think heart shaped balloons and kissing his wife will make the accusation go away?

Where is the mature, thoughtful, deep, understanding, sensitive man who did the following:

1. Stand up for Khanak when his Mom and Bhabhi were driving her out of the house

2. Called his Bhabhi's bluff when she insulted Khanak's English

3. Spoke to Khanak like a mature adult when she impulsively walked into the office to speak with Tashu

4 Spoke to and reassured his Mom about how imprtant Khanak is to him and how it might be hard for her initially but she will eventually accept her. How he persuaded her to atleast give it a try

5. When Khanak is about to share the truth about her marriage to Shaan with Hetal and Mangal he walks in and interrupts her and takes her into a room, sits her down and patiently convinces her what a blunder she was about to committ

WHERE is that SHAAN?

Just WHERE?

If the CVs can please put some serious thought into where this guy is headed, it would be really appreciated.

Wooing Khanak is all OK, but shouldnt he be doing it more maturely?

Should'nt he be shown TRYING to address the infidelity issue?

Shouldnt Shaan be shown ADMITTING what a j--- he has been?

Why dont we see that?

Why dont we see the pensive, pondering, worrying Shaan?

Why dont we see any fear in his eyes? ........ fear of losing Khanak for real

Why has Shaan ASSUMED she will go back with him?

MOST IMPORTANT, yet the MOST ridiculously handled issue has been the Rahul Shaan patch up

Why did Shaan forgive Rahul?

WHY?

When will we see Rahul punsihed....... painfully........... for what ever he has done?

If Shaan had done such a crime, would he have been SO LUCKY?

Rahul seems to have been rewarded with girlfriend number TWO

Why?

Shaan should first send his buddy Rahul to jail for committing that MMS crime and then bother about wooing his wife. No wife in her right mind would want to go back and see the face of a guy like Rahul

Please hit "Like" if you agree that his character is a poor shadow of what it used to be between April-Oct.

Please chime in with your thoughts on how IMPORTANT it is to have Shantanu Khandelwal revived to his old glory for the show to succeed

well said aditee......lovely post !!

Me too missing Shaan with above qualities and also --

1. Who was mad at Khanak for making Natasha cry ( the intensity and passion)
2. Was mad at Natasha for not taking care of Khanak when she got an electric shock, even when Shanak were not romantically involved.
3. Who started going to office because Khanak taunted him.
4. who had the sensitivity and sensibilty to come back from the office just to stop Khanak from telling the secret to dhulwaadi leeches.
5. who irritated Hetal no end just because he didn't like she being nasty with Khanak....

would love to have him back.....

Shaan might have been a kid of the family being pampered by Natasha and K-family......but he never lacked intensity, passion, thoughtfulness, sensitivity, sensibilty, caring attitude and most of all a heart that would understand people from their perspective........

Khanak had to say a small sentence at the pool scene that she is trying to learn English on her own because he never supports her when Khushboo makes fun of her......he just understood her pain....

He was not told to behave as Khanak's husband in front of hetal-magal-gopi..........he just understood.....

He wasn't told to remove his and Natasha's pic from his wall...........he simply understood what Khanak might be going through......

there are numerous scenes between Apr - Oct.....

so what happened now ????

He doesn't seem to understand her pain AT ALL !!!
we are asking him back because we have seen him understanding her before...............

shouldn't he be more mature in handling a situation like accusation of infedility.........having to deal with an ugly MMS and .............public humiliation.....in front of friends !!!

A person who could not tolerate his wife being insulted by his beloved Mom and family.........is now too casual with the same wife being insulted due to and in front of some random friends who popped up after 5 years from nowhere...........

Sorry CVs..............Hard to Digest !!!

THe Shaan we all have loved...adored and stood by despite being the biggest Burdthal has been BUTCHERED by the CVs

Looks like he has regressed ever since the old friends were introduced, the Cvs have lost their focus..they are lost!!! Even Khanak is acting as if they just had a lover's tiff, why is she not thinking abt the MMs issue??😕

Shan has always been a bhurthal and will always be one...I remember the nonchalance when he said that he was not responsible for Suraj's death ..I was 😡 ...but he redeemed himeself when the his thoughts were for KHanak and not about himself the next instant...in Short Shan can be blindingly thoughtless and intensely sensitive and all at the same juncture...

Even in the Tashu/Shan Friction..it was Khanak who held his hand and tried to guide him in wooing back a sulking Tashu... [He was Pretty clueless ]..Similarly in this case I think , anand will play the nanny to him ...it is not that he is insensitive, it is bec he has a warped sense about the events and someone has to put him in the correct perspective ...Once he is in the proper picture..he will react in the way we want him too....

Although, I do wish him to take baby steps ..and stumble [even if he falls no probs..but let him take that independent step ]....

As for Rahul-Shan HUg....The less said the better 😡😡😡

Yup! COUNT me IN...
KT is a WONDERFUL actor, brilliant in his profession and one of the MOST promising actors of his generation but in order to give him the well deserved PRAISE, we need the entire RBO team on the same boat. Dialogues and Story could use some serious work these days. "Shaantanu"- the character needs to be presented GOOD not just well or average- HE is the ONLY LEAD (besides the female lead). The concept of the show is SPLENDID and REFRESHING but some seriousness in to MAKING it PRESENTABLE and APPEALING needs to be done. So please it is OUR humble REQUEST to make the most out of the BRILLIANCE and TALENT that these HARDWORKING actors are willing to do. Please let RBO rise back up from the turmoil it has been through for the past few months... i am no director but a faithful viewer can judge when something is going super OFF in the show. I HOPE we see SHAANTANU at his best this coming week....

I can't agree more with u Aditee on this! We all say golden RBO is long gone, but why is it so?? Not only because of the actor's performances but because of the presentation & handling of the characters by the CV's along with absence of substantial screenplay.

They have forgotten how they have built Shaan's character so far & now they r making him so juvenile that it is beyond any logic now. He doesn't realise what he has done, where he has erred!! He was not this dense ever! If he made a mistake he realised it immediately & in his own selfish way tried to rectify it when he wasn't in love with Khanak & when he was he would go to the other end of the world to correct himself. U have named some of the instances urself.

Then why do we see him so immature now? We all love the boyish romantic image of Shaan but that doesn't mean we like an immature, thickheaded Shaan! Previously he always listened to his dad & acted on his advice but now irrespective of his dad's telling him not to be overconfident he keeps telling himself its a breeze to cajole Khanak in returning with him. Really?? He can't be so foolish & insensitive! All he does is talk to himself, make jocular plans to make amends with her & then run after her aimlessly! I mean even a 16 yr old will know what to do & how to go about it! Utter butchering of his character!! I can take his cribbing about the hygiene facts of Dhulwadi, weather, food, his torture but not this guy who has no clue of what he has done so far & fooling around with kids & arm wrestling with some random guy!

To some extent both characters of Shaan & Khanak has been butchered badly, more of Shaan & we think we have lost our golden RBO.

I don't blame the actor if we don't see 100% from him like we did before! Earlier he had substance to portray & emote, his role was meaty enough to carry the show on his shoulders along with Khanak but now the show should be declared a 'zila'. We see the entire 'toli' of Rock On group, Anand & then other actors. We get Shanak for 5 mins max in a whole episode & that too with no depth in the characters or their actions. Then how can the actors convince themselves to portray such insubstantial moments?!

And again the presentation, handling & execution of a scene plays a major part for becoming a memorable one. With Anand I agree HT is a superb actor but its also a fact that his role is well thought out, backed, written & presented well & so we love his scenes. SWJ herself is directing his scenes & there r some really good moments but with Shaan there is practically nothing to present. I can predict now, there he is driving his RV thinking about Khanak & himself & how he will win over her in a flash! That is all he does other than goofing around in his spare time. Why can't we see quality in his scenes as well? I can't blame the actors for not creating the magic but I will blame the CV's for destroying the magic & charisma they once shared onscreen because back then their scenes used to be well scripted, directed & presented, not edited well yes but presentation & execution was really good.

That old man yesterday whom Sunil asked for directions got more screen time than Shaan himself. Now looking at the show I feel Rahul & Jenny r the main leads & Shanak the supporting one when it should have been the other way round! Looking at this I don't think the actors themselves r happy to see their characters come to this level. So if they fail to perform like before I can't point a finger at them.

I agree that Shaan's character needs to be revived and I personally do not enjoy the Rajen scenes at all.

Shaan's character has been butchered to such an extent that we are slowly loosing the essence of the show.

Sure we are getting Dhulwadi track like we all wanted but even that track has become a joke at this point. I know it's been only a week but still why can't we get decent scenes? I mean show something serious, even with the amp time given to Shanak scenes there should be something there that spells that this is the Shanak we fell in love with. I mean show how Shaan is repenting and not chasing after Khanak like a Lattu lover. Show that how Rahul should be punished for the trick he played. Shaan forgave him like that w/o realizing the gravity of the situation while he pointed fingers at his own wife and tried to prove her wrong.

I don't know what to say except give us our Shanak back. If you can't go back then no worries but try to show something better of them rather than the stuff you are giving us that is not worth watching like we used to.

Sorry I don't meant to hurt anyone's feeling with this.
