perhaps i will retract the ash statement...true tht shes not giving hits anymore after this year...but if u look at the past few years, she had JA, guru, dhoom 2 etc and also has a more "powerful" standing in the industry than kajol because of her international appeal, her bachan tag, her miss world tag etc...so she is more of a crowd puller than kajol but she is slowly losing her touch too...

and as i said b4...im discussing"stardom" here...im not really discussing who is the better actress or who is recognized as a good actor.....im discussing who is "bigger" and more "influential" in the industry...now tht stardom can be because they have a pretty face, are from an influential family, are charismatic...or whatever....thts not the point..point is who has it and who dosen't...

I really like Rani as an actress, she is the opnly main stream actress excepty for Vidya and Tabu, whose performances (some of them) have connected with me-

some of you may call her over-rated, but look at what we have around us.... Give me Rani any day over the likes of Kat, SP, Sonam.

The main reason why media is so harsh towards her is because on her way up Rani has totally pissed off all the people. She was rude and obnoxious. media had enough of her and were waiting for a chance to put her down. So when her movies started failing media had its revenge and fair enough- the people you see on your way up are the people you see in your way down.

And Cutie, sorry I dont care if Rani has multiple affairs or goes after married men, thats none of my business. But its basic human courtesy to be polite to your fans. Remember they are the people who made Rani successful in the first place. If you are rude to your fans, you wont get any repect.

Which is why someone like Ash is still popular, because she is polite to one and all whereas others like Rani and Amisha get negative coverage when they start facing failures.

Hope Rani has learnt her lesson.

I don't think she made a comeback, she was there as an estabilished actress. Her work always spoke for herself, she never believed in melodrama. There are times that some films work and others dont. and the ones that didn't work was not her fault, as we all know she is a great actress. Its jst the Scripts, movies etc that were bad.

For me, she is still the Rani i loved from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai days

she did make a string of bad decisions in her career but hey, we're all human at the end of the day. as far as her 'offscreen personality' is concerned, I don't care in the least. as long as her offscreen persona doesn't overpower her performance and talent, I don't care whether my favorite actress is living up to my expectations as a 'person' or not. for me, her talent is the biggest highlight of her overall personality, and as long as that manages to stand out - everything else doesn't count.

among actresses, if star power is something the likes of katrina have, then I'm glad rani doesn't have even an ounce of it 😆 I wouldn't put her in any category that the current wood sticks have already made their space in.

I'm sure she's going to be more wise after the prolonged period of not-so-subtle criticism for her 'yashraj camp' image. I think she has realized where she faltered and hopefully she will not commit the same mistake again. NOKJ was a 'bang' - at least by my standards.

I'd like to say something on the "fans" issue.
Being a DIE-HARD Rani fan for TWELVE long years,I've hardly seen fans having a bad encounter with her.Yes,there has been a couple of them but the majority has always been really nice and warm.
I guess she was pretty uptight and kind of rude back in those days & I really do believe that her failures is what made her REALISE the true importance of her fans.Because when she saw her fans still fighting for her,still waiting for her to do more movies and give out more solid performances despite her string of flops,that's what motivated her.
I truly believe that after this phase of hers,she has started appreciating her fans like NEVER BEFORE and it shows in her interviews when she ALWAYS-like ALWAYS thanks her fans and says how she owes everything to them & I genuinely believe that she MEANS every single WORD of it.
Like people say,your failure teaches you ALOT-I think it taught Rani alot too.She learnt the true importance of her fans in her life,she learnt who ACTUALLY are her true friends in the industry,she learnt WHAT we want her to do.And somewhere down the line,I am glad she did.Had it not been for these failures,maybe she wouldn't have learnt all of what she did.
People say it right-everything happens for good😃
