Abhi's father tells Abhi not to touch Runjhun, but Abhi ignores his fathers and with the help of Amma takes Runjhun inside. His parents are shocked, and Mittho invites everyone in the house to create more of a scene.
Inside the house, Runjhun is resting, and Amma tells her not to worry. She says she knows that Runjhun is still pure, and nothing happened. The aunts are smirking to themselves, while Abhi's parents question the decision of moving to this town and facing the talks of people. Abhi's father tells his wife that now they will be the ones to lose face. The people in the crowd say that after what happened to Runjhun, no one will touch her, and want to make her their daughter in law. They say even Abhi's parents must be reconsidering the marriage to Runjhun, after all who knows what Guddu must have done to Runjhun.
The aunts and uncle are of no help at all. Amma tells all the people to leave instead of staring and making comments for no reason. She tells them to leave, and closes the door. Billo asks softly whether Abhi's father will accept Runjhun or save face and run. Mittho says that now after what has happened, there is no way that Runjhun will be able to marry and leave this house. She tells the other aunts to look a little sad, and not spoil the whole matter by looking too happy.
Amma asks Rajju to call for the doctor, but Mittho asks what's the point. Amma says that she knows that nothing happened to Runjhun. Kalsanwali points out to Abhi's parents that Guddu in a locked room with Runjhun , and nothing happened. That is impossible. Amma says nothing happened, and tells them all to keep quiet. Billo says that it's not them who are saying but the people in the village will say so. Rajju agrees and says that despite what Amma might believe the people are still going to think that something happened between Runjhun & Guddu. Vishnu agrees. He says the only way for Runjhun to be proved innocent and pure is if Guddu himself announces the fact that he didn't do anything to Runjhun. Amma contemplates as Buntu and Billo also chime in their opinion.
Amma heads out, and the people are still gathered in her living room. They all rush out wondering where Amma is heading out. One of the men comments that's what happens if you continue to provoke the snake, and if it is someone like Guddu, then there is no cure. He says that a woman's honor is like milk. A little stain or impurity shows up against it. The milk can at least be strained but a girls honor, it is better not to be touched.
Outside Guddu says that Runjhun had the nerve to burn all those things and insult him, and now she will have to bear all the insults. Amma heads out towards Guddu, and slaps Guddu. Guddu is taken aback, and clenches his fist but says nothing. Amma tells Guddu that he has to reveal all his doing to everyone, and tell them that he didn't do anything to Runjhun. She tells him that he will have to say it to Abhi's father and mother too, that he didn't do anything at all to Runjhun, and asks him to come with her. She grabs his hand and tells him to come. He says he will definitely come, and walks with Amm, as she heads back into the house.
Rajju is pacing in front of the other uncles and the aunts and saying he wonders what their mother is up to. If something happens to her they will face more trouble. Mittho tells him not to worry, instead she points out that Abhi's parents have definitely turned pale thinking of their honor.
Abhi's parents say that they will definitely not let Abhi marry Runjhun. Abhi's father says after all they got such a good marriage proposal fro Abhi, why would they tie Abhi to this kind of life. He said there is definitely something wrong as always there is a new issue that props up with Runjhun. He says that if you work with coal, it will definitely stain.
Amma drags in Guddu and says that she knows that Abhi's father will listen to the voice of truth. She says that Guddu wanted to break Runjhun's marriage, but Runjhun's honor is pure and nothing untoward happened. She tells Guddu to tell the truth. Guddu says that whatever Amma is telling is true. He says that he did want to break Runjhun's marriage. The aunts are displeased at this. Guddu but adds that it is also true that in the closed room alone with Runjhun, he touched her. Amma is shocked. He says he has no reason to lie. He touches his cheek and says that for now this truth is enough and leaves.
Amma tries to stop him but Guddu leaves. Amma tells Abhi's father that Guddu is lying, and not to believe him. Abhi's father says that they can't do this anymore. There must be some truth if everyone is saying something. He says she only brought Guddu in and now she is only disavowing him. He says that till now they hadn't said anything because of their son, who had persuaded them, but now they are going to break the marriage.
Amma is shocked and the aunts and uncles are pleased with this development. Billo and Kalsanwali are celebrating internally when Mittho tells them now to count their chickens before they are hatched and to continue looking sad and miserable. Rajju tells the same to Buntu, telling him that if he was in the spy business they would have to close it down because his expression would give everything away. He tells him to stop showing his teeth.
Abhi's father says that they are breaking Abhi and Runjhun's engagement. Runjhun is woken up by the thoughts of what Guddu did, and she hears Amma pleading with Abhi. Amma tells Abhi that he knows what Guddu is like and he knows that Runjhun is still pure. ABhi's parents tell him to leave and say that he has already done enough for Runjhun, and there is nothing more that they can do, and says that he can't think of marrying Runjhun.
