The Pretty Woman of Indian cinema turns a year older and stronger today!

Preity Zinta has come a long way in Bollywood while working with some of the biggest stars of tinsel town. It is interesting to see how many different roles she has played throughout her acting career.

She made her debut in 1998 with Mani Ratnam's Dil Se starring SRK and Manisha Koirala. She acted in a few films which went unnoticed at the box-office even though her acting was appreciated. Later, she proved her acting talent and made a name for herself with films like Kya Kehna and Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. Her bubbly attitude has won her a huge fan-following.

In 2001, she starred in the super hit Dil Chahta Hai where she stood out with her simplicity among the male co-actors. Later, she portrayed many different roles but most of her films were an average hit or a flop. However, 2003 proved to be a lucky year for her which gave her the two greatest hits of her career: Kal Ho Naa Ho with SRK and Saif Ali Khan and Koi... Mil Gaya with her good pal Hrithik Roshan.

She worked in Farhan Akhtar's Lakshya in 2004 which despite great performances wasn't as much of a success as the team had hoped for. That didn't stop her though and she bounced back with King Khan by giving a heart-wrenching performance in the movie Veer-Zaara. Shortly after, she was once again seen with the Chote Nawab in the popular Salaam Namaste. Her dimpled smile and bubbly attitude made, not only her fans, but many in the industry fall for her.

After Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, however, things have not looked too bright for the cheerful star. Apart from owning Kings XI Punjab at the Indian Premier League, Preity hasn't done anything since Heaven on Earth and her not-so-happening item song in Main Aur Mrs Khanna.
