Star Plus Recovers; Gain For Zee TV & Sony Too

The telecast of Star Screen Awards 2011 on the weekend scores big for Star Plus.

Riding high on the screening of Star Screen Awards, Star Plus has recovered up to some extent in the fourth week of TAM 2011. According to the TAM data released for week 4, the No.1 Hindi general entertainment channel has garnered 360 GRPs as compared to 326 in week 3. The telecast of Star Screen Awards 2011 scored 5.4 TVRs for the channel. Star Plus had released its Anthem for woman Tu Hi Tu and announced the launch of 3 weekend shows during the awards.

On the other hand, Colors has garnered 243 GRPs (last week 276). The premiere of Action Replay contributed with 3.5 TVRs to the No.2 GEC.

Besides, Zee TV has also shown some recovery and garnered 235 GRPs as compared to 222 in the 3^rd week of 2011.

As the popularity of Jhalak Dikkhla Ja is growing, Sony Entertainment Television too has gained 15 GRPs this week. Sony has garnered 173 GRPs on the TAM people meter in the 4^th week of this year.

The GEC-2 channels have also attracted more eyeballs this week. SAB TV has recorded 137 GRPs (last week 136) followed by Imagine 86 (last week 83), Star One 41 (last week 36) and Sahara One 30 (last week 27).

For selfish reasons I really dont mind Zee doing well now, they will allow their shows to settle down and hopefully not run behind short term TRPS in their greed for more. On a different note the TRP chart for the 24th of Jan looks good for ZEE.

i hope zee ki akal thikane aa gayi hogi!!!!!!!! its better for them if they dont run behind short term trps...... better try out to maintain consistent performance with the storylines. lets see what TAM ratings has to say. would like to watch out for Sanskar Laxmi

I did see a couple of scenes of SL. The beginning looks very much like CB. There was one dialogue between the elder PUrohits(the parents) y'day which reminded very much like the talk between Dev's father and Vaishali. But the difference could be that you have more characters in this story and therefore potential for side stories. Let us see how it goes.

I do hope this writer and the PH decide to tell their story the way they want to and not follow the guidelines set up by ZEE for the repetition of same tracks.😉

GEC ratings: STAR Plus surges, Colors slips

STAR Plus zoomed to 390 GRPs in Week 4 (TAM, HSM, CS4+) from 326 GRPs while second place Colors dropped to 243 GRPs from 276 in the previous week.

Zee moved to within 8 GRPs of Colors with an improved 235 GRPs.

Sony moed up to deliver 173 GRPs, while SAB was steady at 137 GRPs.

Imagine was at 86 GRPs.

Madhu thanks since the article shows the GECs I am adding this to the info.Tthe announcement of CB2 and now that they r showing sometimes the promo of CB2 I would like to think maybe the viewers r slowly waiting and coming back to see the channel I am now seeing PR regularly to catch a glimpse of CB promo and was not disappointed yesterday 😃but they have cut short some scenes of the original promo😡

thanks chalhov for the aricle....... so zee started showing promo of cb2. hope thay show daily.. but why did they cut out scenes from promo....... waise bhi its only of 2 min then whats was the need to to do that..... well they have shown thats the big thing and hope they soon show us some more new promos

As we all know dat Zee can be very selfish & stubborn.They'l only do what they want.But the best thing is that finally their rusted brains have started to function & hope it'l stay that way.Hope that they show the complete promos on & off .
