Hrithik, who is currently in London for Madame Tussaud's, has a story to tell about how he got there. When about to board the flight to London, Duggu got a call from one of his family members telling him that Shammi Kapoor wanted to speak with him.
Our source said, "Hrithik had just boarded the flight and he pleaded and requested the cabin crew to allow him to speak on the phone. Shammi Kapoor called him and spoke to him.
Shammi had just seen Guzaarish and wanted to speak to him and bless him. Hrithik was elated after this as he is a huge fan of Shammi Kapoor's and used to imitate his dancing style in front of the mirror as a child."
When contacted, Shammi Kapoor said, "Yes, I did speak to him. As a matter of fact he was taking off and was on a flight when I called him. I had seen Guzaarish and I thought that he was brilliant and we must encourage the boy. So I called him."
It seems that the airline staff made a rare exception allowing Duggu to talk to his idol for some time on his cell. How sweet!
When contacted Hrithik Roshan said, "I requested the air hostess, was hoping she would allow me but unfortunately she didn't know me. But being a hardcore Shammi Kapoor fan, I did as hardcore fans should and took the call. And it was all worth it. It's the first time I received a compliment from him. Made my day!"
