Hi.
I never actually saw the 2nd Kutumb, but I heard a lot about it, and I think the story goes as such:
Pratham and Gauri meet at school and fall in love. They want to get married. Pratham's family opposes the match because they are rich and Gauri is only middle-class or even poor. Pratham decides to leave his familly to marry Gauri. I'm not quite sure what happens immediately after this, but I think some time later, Gauri finds out she has cancer and is dying. There's lots of truama, crying, blah blah blah...however, before Gauri gets a chance to die a "natural" death, they get into a car accident and Gauri dies.😭
The girl who caused the accident is Shweta, who also happens to look exactly like Gauri. What a coincidence!😕
Anyways, Gauri's father is apparently a heart patient or something, and the shock of Gauri's death would just kill him. So Pratham forces Shweta to pretend she is Gauri for the father's sake, otherwise Pratham will take Shweta to the police for causing the accident. I'm not really too sure what ends up happening here, but somehow eventually, Pratham and Shweta end up getting married. They both really hate each other at first, but eventually Shweta falls for him. Pratham of course is still in love with Gauri and will never be able to forget her for the rest of his life. Pratham does eventually forgive Shweta, when he sees her turn good (apparently she was the equivalent of a "vamp" or something before). In the end, I believe he tells Shweta that they can be "friends" for life and continue in their husband-wife relationship as good friends.
That's a brief summary of the story as I know it. Anyone else, please feel free to add to this or correct any parts that are incorrect. As I mentioned, I never actually watched the show, so my knowledge of it is quite limited.
Cheers,
M. 😊
