Honestly, when evaluating a person in respect to their core job job be acting, sports, politics or whatever, people should focus on the core functions and not as much on the personal life. For example Bill Clinton's personal integrity as a husband can be questioned, but there is no doubt that he was a good politician and president. Similarly one can frown on Tiger Woods cheating and be disgusted over sex addiction, but there is no denying that as a golfer he was a class apart and one of a kind.

However, when you are a celebrity you have to be prepared that your personal life will come under scrutiny and it will affect how people perceive you. If celebrities act in a way that people find distasteful or wrong, people will judge them on it, they may lose fans over it. At the same time charity work, good public relations and clean personal lives can get people fans, sometime fans they might have not gotten for their good work. It may not seem fair, but there will always be that overlap between professional/personal. I mean even though Hitler was a great orator and persuasive speaker - only an idiot would say they admired him if only for his speaking.

I personally started liking Tom Cruise less for all his Scientology ramblings. I always thought Angelina Jolie was overrated and when she stole Brad from Jennifer Aniston, it really sealed her fate as far as me. At the same time I always though Jennifer Aniston was underrated and what she went through in her personal life and how she rebounded made me like her even more. I'm human, personal life is bound too affect my liking dislike for stars.

A big problem I have with several fans is they refuse to respect these opinions people have about their beloved celebrity. I'm not stopping people from loving Angelina Jolie. But that does not mean she is immune from criticism or questions on her personal life. As long as I am respectful and within limits, I ought to have a right to question that. Sometimes I just don't get why fans feel that their favorites should be immune from any criticism and are quick to call everything as bashing. For I am also OK with people disliking Jennifer Aniston or claiming that all she does is fluff and feel good. But I expect them to understand why I personally find her likable.

But I do not agree with trashing people because of personal choices. In recent times LeAnn Rimes has received a lot of flak and been trashed as 'Husband Stealer' and been subject to a lot of mean talk. Yes she cheated, its wrong, but at some point people need to grow up and move on with it. She still has musical talent that cannot be denied. I still have to admit that Angelina Jolie can deliver some brilliant performances at times.

However, my personal pet peeve when it comes to celebrities and their fans is that when people without an ounce of talent, with unscrupulous personal lives get widespread blind loyal following just for their good looks. See I'm not against people swooning over good looking people. But why mask it saying that they are talented or really good at something or you like their work - why not fess up and just say you are being shallow over good looks? Its usually women who tend to do this. At least I respect men who drool at tennis players in short skirts or pinfold modelds - because they fess up and say yeah their game sucks - but who cares they are hot. Honesty, whats so hard in admitting you are human instead of lying to yourself about being concerned with talent or whatever. (Same goes when people fall for money, just fess up and admit you are a gold digger. Dignity and integrity, fall from grace if you must, but do it with dignity and integrity)

umm this is a very complicated issue..i'd say an actor's actinig skills should be the only consideration...let their personal life remain personal....but since an actor's personal life always sumhow become public..i always consider their acting first..if theyr a gud actor then theyr my fav..their personal life doesnt matter to me..its their character nd their ability to shape up the charcater gud wid their skills.... and that how i choose my fav..also looks..well i have to say looks dont matter much in my case..coz there r many actors whose looks are average but their acting just touches my heart!!..their every emotion displayed as the character is out of this world...nd then i see them as being more beautiful...in short personal life dont matter a lot to me.. =) nd as i said its hard for an actor's life to remain private..if their personal life do cum up..if its bad thne i just leave it at that then i just like the actor but if theyr a really gud human bein..then i become the person's fan..for who theyr in real life nd for their talent..

Our education system and soceity teach us,How to Act or behave in public....we have depended on society for centuries, these act create split personalities within our mind...we act differently different situations...and I think a moral person is not an individual because he is divided...cos that time we have to wear different masks....In different situations, different personalities are needed..one he shows one face, to another he shows another face. One goes on changing faces...Alone you have one face. In our bathroom you have one face, in the office you have another. Have you observed the fact that in your bathroom you become more childish...and these act continuew different situations in daily life but its all part of our life...better be watchful the acts and enjoy the acts...😊

But some actors wear the same face in almost all movies and still have such a huge fan following 😆
