This is my first post in debate mansion.I love debating and thus decided to post here.

I had a debate in my mind since few days which I would likely to hear majority state of opinions in this case.

The world contains many talented actors whom we appreciate, like, dislike, love or hate.

Now the questions arouses that an actor should be appreciated only for his acting or his personal life should be considered?
To make it more simpler, example an actor has a worse personal life but he/she is a very talented actor so should the viewers and fan appreciate him considering only acting and skills or should they give his/her personal life in consideration?

I personally think the actor should be appreciated for his acting talent and skills only.Because if their personal life is considered it wont benefit as we like that person's acting and we shouldn't show any interest in his/her personal life no matter he/she has good or bad experience of personal life.
We start loving and appreciating the actor from the character he/she plays so the actor's looks and acting should be considered and nothing else.
Sometimes , viewers start appreciating the actor for his/her acting skills but latterly changes his/her state of liking after they get to know about the celebrity personal life.

What Do You All Think?

You are contradicting yourself here , you earlier said that we should only consider an actor's acting abilities & now you say you should consider his looks too ! If it is the character you are appreciating you should remember that the character is the scriptwriters creation and does not reflect the character of the actor. The character being played on screen in imaginary but people associate those qualities with the actor and hence all the adulation follows. In the fans mind , somewhere along the line as you yourself said, the character and actor get merged. So qualities of each other are bound t spill over and affect ones opinion about the actor as a professional as well as an individual.

Having said that, why feel bad if some people do not like a particular actor that you like . Everyone is entitled to his/her own reason for liking or disliking .
Frankly speaking I dont care about any actor or character on soaps !

From a practical standpoint most people love to pry into the personal life of an actor and consider whether they should support such a person. In certain cases they do not care about several things unless it is totally out of board.
But look at KSG who is most popular eventhough he was caught two timing.
Love is blind I guess.

Ahan!!A well defined and reasonable answer.😛
I Agree we fall for an actor and try to have a glimpse of the actor how he is in real and thus there we consider his personal life at some extent.
Love is blind cannot be used in this field. Its actually not love but appreciation, acknowledgment towards the actor.

Debating over this issue is too big a risk in IF! An absolutely gallant step, you took buddy! 😆

Whatever profession a person is in, he/she would like it best if the work they are doing is acknowledged. I personally feel so and I guess, none of us know the actors anyway so as to be making out anything out of their personal life. On camera, when the reporter is questioning the actor, it is needful on his part to be polite and not to get into a controversy unless, he had had this as his prospective. You see, anything and everything can be scripted and there's no point talking of a person's life out of virtue.

It's not a damned rule that you need to be dating your co-star and all, yet two newcomers or two actors working as a couple tend to be paired up, makes sense? I guess not. Not just the media, but people also keep speculating the relationship to be true and everything. Point one: I find all the news is necessary for the actor as in an industry like such, he needs to be in the news. Point two: It is on the viewer, how they perceive what they are watching. I can either enjoy the interview and state the actor to be media-friendly or I can get inquisitive about his personality out of the blue.

I dont really like thinking of what is the actor like off screen as long as he acts well and is not too much in news. I detest people who like making news, even if it is not in their favor. And be it an actor who's really popular or anybody fairly known, as a viewer my perception is always based on his acting skill.

Nah I do not care if it is too risky all I care about is what the majority thinks and this made me to post this debate here.

Totally a sensible, reasonable and satisfying reply as I expected. You have penned down my view more clearly than I could.
Of course no one knows how the actor's are in real except you know them personally. On Screen they are seen doing a different character and in interviews it is not real them. They try to act polite, kind and angelic but they aren't like this in real life.Example you , you might be short-tempered but wont show your anger in interview and try act polite and kind and thus the actors are also human being so they also have faults and errors but they do not bring it on screen.
And yet as we do not know the actors in real life then actually believing rumors and scandals about them and pressurizing your liking more on their personal life isn't sensible.
So thus , that's what the conclusion is if we consider their personal life it wont matter because we really don't know the real them and therefore , an actor's acting skill should be considered to acknowledge and appreciate them.

@TM- Well.....i agree with you. It should ideally not happen, but it unfortunately does! People do start liking/hating an actor after they get some info. on their personal front. But since it's a thing of acknowledgment/admiration, it will always go according to an individual's perspective. I for one, never ponder over an actor's personal life. 'coz they are humans just like us. And just like we have some short-comings in us, they too do. I like/dislike an actor according to his/her skills. And thus i would preach what i practice. But then again, it's an individual's perspective. 😊

Even tho you mite say that we should consider acting skills and not personal life but you have to also consider the fact that even though we say that we should not mix personal with professional, it always happens....like if an actor messed up in real life and he is still a good actor....then most likely if the thing he messed up on is not in the norms and not socially accepted then the producers or directors wont contract him or her....it is just how it is...no matter how much people want ot separate...personal seems to overshadow the professional becuase first impression is what matter....or well impression for that matter is what matters the most.....I also want to just look at an actor's profesional life and not person but sometimes actors are disliked and hated becuase of what is happening in their professional life even though they are amazing stars....if they go and break a norm that is unacceptable then they will never be able to come out of it until all the talk dies out.....I want to say that we should only look at their professsional career and not personal but everyone at one point of time gets judgemental and biased due to the actors personal life....so I guess no matter how much a person wants it....personal overshadows professional at some point!

When you idolize a person you expect him/her to be perfect. Who would idolize an person who is perceived as imperfect? 😕

Here no one is idolizing the actor.Idolizing refers to the term 'admiring or respecting some one very very much'.You only make someone Idol when you want to be like them. This is the matter of appreciating and acknowledging the actor. You use the word 'Idol' only when you look forward to blindly respect the person and set an aim to follow him/her despite of the person being imperfect.Because no one is perfect. The debate is on the topic 'Should The Viewers Pressurize their state of liking and consider the actor's personal life despite of the actor being a well-skillful and talented actor.
