Yeah it's not debatable, obviously one can't be allowed to sell a kid. A kid is an individual and the parents don't own him/ her, so no question of authority to sell.

If one needs to debate, then maybe one can debate somewhat similar but a little different incidents.
Very poor people sometimes give up their kids to a rich person because they feel they can't look after the baby properly. Is that right or wrong?
Sometimes, inspite of extreme poverty and inability to take proper care of the baby, some parents refuse to give up the baby for adoption. Is it right to keep a baby even if you can't provide for it?

IMO...anything that is done keeping the welfare of the child in mind would be right...........the child comes first...........just because one is a parent does not mean that they own the child and can ruin the life of the child............but giving up the child in exchange for money.....even though one is fully capable of caring for the child is evil.....

I did not think this debate was if it is OK to give up a child or not, but more of a What would you do and why. Of course for most people giving up a child for money is not an option, except in some extreme desolate cases and Souro pointed.

Also one need not always perceive it as "selling" a child, but also a question if they would pick money or children in other circumstances. For example would you testify against a child for money, would you go against a child regarding something for money. Is there any situation where you would choose money instead of siding with children. For example in the business world - families can get ruthless against each other and break ties over business.

Regardless of whether it's my kid or not, it would still be illegal to wrongly testify in court and of course it's morally wrong.

Personally, I can't see myself doing any of those things you've mentioned above, especially as it involves a kid. There are exceptions though. Maybe, just maybe if I had to save my own kid, then I may wrongly testify against a child. But in this situation money doesn't really play a role.
