I do not condone murder but, aparently, there's more to this case than what meets the eye. See the excerpt below:
"......Bhatt also said that the accused had applied for the passport of his two children. "We are ascertaining the exact date these applications were provided,'' said the officer. Sources, however, refused to confirm if the emails sent in the name of Gulati's wife in the past two months and addressed to Pradhan was scripted by the accused himself.

Sources said that the accused had claimed that he "did everything for the sake of the children''. "I was asked to pay Rs 20,000 on the first of every month as alimony to my wife. On the day of Dusshera, I was watching television with my children when she came and asked for more money. We had an argument and it turned physical. I pushed her and she fell unconscious after being hit on the forehead. I panicked and I decided to strangle her as otherwise I will be implicated in another civil case. I wanted to take care of the children and did things in that particular state of mind,'' the accused Gulati told the media from his police cell."

What could have turned a professional educated person into a murderer? 😕
Probably she cheated on him, or he had mental problems, or was frustrated, or wanted to leave her and she wasnt giving him a divorce.

Could it have been prevented?
how can you prevent someones animalistic behaviour?

What do you feel went wrong?
same as first answer.

True that !
Did you read the part that said that the guy said he would go and sell the house that they had in US but instead went to Kolkata and married a lady with a kid ? There was no more follow up on that angle.
What I find strange is if theguy was a habitually violent person why did the lady go back to him and that too to fight over alimony !? She could have just walked off and filed for a separation . There was no problem regarding a visa as she was back in India and could get a job (she had done her MCA) Knowing the violent nature of her husband would she risk such an argument considering that her two young kids would also be exposed to danger? Moreover it was also reported that while leaving for Dehradun she had told her parents not to contact her as her husband did not like it ! This was what made the crime go undetected for two months ! It came to light only when her brother landed up in Dehradun to handover her passport and could not meet her and suspected something amiss .
The guy could have been under stress as he had lost his job and was hard pressed for money. He even had to borrow some from his father. The crime could have been committed in a fit of rage and later he tried to hide the evidence . Stress is a common occurence but resorting to violence must not be tolerated .
Why do ppl do it? Is it because they think its OK to indulge in it ? Or perhaps because they expect to get way W*H it !

^^ It was the same persn being referred to ! Something doesnt hold in this Murder case...
The guy must be more than mentally disturbed to go about chopping the body with an electric cutter and then storing it in separate bundles in a freezer he bought specifically for the purpose , then disposing bit by bit on the way to musoorie ...How does a disturbed person manage to plan all that ! 😕
Theres another bizarre case this morning..I felt..its worse somehow even though it doesnt sound as gruesome. A man stalked a young girl in Rohini, and then shot her in the spine with a country made pistol for refusing to marry him ! This girl didnt even get a chance to walk out !!!
Like the techie he too had lost his job recently. He had been stalking the girl for sometime, and even managed to get her ph no from an acquaintance . Her parents had complained to the police ..but I dont think the law can do much in the way of prevention there !
The guy has been caught, he says he failed to commit suicide as the pistol got jammed !
The girl's now admitted with lower limb paralysis and would require a loooong time to heal if at all she does! Meanwhile the guy will at worst serve a few years in prison, if he does get convicted and doesnt get bail ! The conditions in the prison are much better these days than they used to be and he wont have it very hard there..whereas the girls bedridden with possible permanent damage.
Such offenders ought to be punished by making them do community service in a home where abandoned paraplegic patients are kept. They ought to know what happens to the victims of their rage ! A term in jail is too mild !
People's tolerance limit esp in Delhi seems to have touched rock bottom these days !!!
Cases of road rage is also on a rise !!!

Geez! What a sorry ass sicko! Delhi had a spate of acid-throwing incidents too in the past. The jilted romeos would throw acid on the girl's face if she refused/resisted their advances. Sickens me to the core!

Acid-throwing is quite common in general, not just Delhi. It sickens me when I read stories about how a guy throws acid on his ex-gf's face because she refused marriage, or some other crap like that🤢

There used to be a lot of Indian shows back in the days where they used to show issues like acid-throwing and other things like when people make you unconscious and remove your kidney without you knowing. The thought of that still haunts me.

Shooting him would be too lenient in my opinion. There must be some punishment which forces such offenders to live and experience all the pain that they bring upon others.
Its strange how easily he got hold of that pistol from a small town in UP expressedly for the purpose of shooting that girl ! The person who sold it to him advised him to shoot below the waist as that would cause less damage (sic) His aim wasnt good so the bullet hit the spine instead .
The laws regarding getting a licence to own firearms had been relaxed recently ! I had been wondering if that was a wise thing to do! There have been many incidents of the pistols being used on own family members either accidentally or in a fit of rage ! Just how many have been used for self defence in an efficient manner is debatable.

Acid throwing is another heinous crime , worse than murder ! Yet theres no proper provision in law to deal with such criminals. Only recently there had been some ammendments thanx to the efforts of some NGOs.
