Kyunki.... leap deferred

The kids on Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will have to wait some more before they too turn grey.

The Kyunki.... leap, that was scheduled for 7 April, has now been shifted forward to 7 June. The former, incidentally, happens to be Ekta Kapoor's father, Jeetendra's birthday, and the latter, is well, her own.

Shooting for the post leap episodes will begin at the swank new sets that have been set up at Chitrarth Studios in Powai in suburban Mumbai. After K Street, Pali Hill, the new Kyunki... sets are the most expensive erected by Balaji Telefilms till date. Mid May, the unit takes off to shoot the post leap episodes at Haridwar. The production house however, is yet to zero in on Tulsi Krishna, the show's new protagonist, who takes over the ever sacrificing Tulsi's mantle.

The reason behind deferring what will be Kyunki's third leap in six years? Star India's creative head Shailja Kejriwal says the current track is gripping enough and pull the show on for at least two more months, before the leap takes effect. Balaji's creative head for Kyunki, Shivangi too says that there are certain factors that need to be ironed out before the new set that characterises the next

generation is introduced.

Currently, the show is focusing on the mercy killing case that followed Tulsi putting her mother in law out of pain. That track, which had Makarand Deshpande in a guest appearance too will end soon, and the show will shift to a slightly different track till the unit gears up for the leap.

The Kyunki actors meanwhile, are a clueless lot, but diplomatically prefer to say that as actors, they will go along with the track and join the leap as and when it happens.

Amit Sareen who sounds extremely confused, says, " They have postponed it beacause of a couple of things, mainly I guess because its Ekta's birthday, so she wants to telecast the first episode then, perhaps!" Sumit Sachdev who plays Gautam on the show too has no clue, "It has already been postponed more than two times, so I don't know whats happening now!"

Of all, Hiten Tejwani sounds very relaxed, " Well, I am okay with whatever is happening! We come here to work, and will do that whenever they say."

The only thing common among the stars is that none of them are aware as to what their character is going to be like. Sumit adds, " I don't know how my charecter will shape up."

Hiten too chips in, " I know nothing about what my character holds, post leap."

As soon as the mercy killing track gets done with, they will deal with other tracks like that of Karan filing a case against Meera and finding who the guy responsible for Mohini's pregnancy is! Must say, there's no shortage of excitement for Kyunki.... fans!
