Gopi watched as Kinjal's bidaai's took place. She was happy because everything had gone smoothly. She thought to herself that Maaji will be happy, and that the pressure she has been under for so many days will go.
Gopi watched as Aham placed Kinjal in the doli and hugged her. Just as Aham was about turn back, Gopi turned to go back into the Modi Mansion. Gopi went to the kitchen went about cleaning it up.
Everyone slowly came back into the house. Happy, yet said. The only daughter of the house was gone. The bid each other a quick goodnight'and went to their rooms.
Aham stood there for a while. He was not sure what to do, what to think. The time had come. The time he had been waiting for the last 7 to 8 months. Gopi would be leaving.
He walked over to the kitchen with a determined look on his face, he would tell Gopi that she has to leave. He looked into the kitchen and watched Gopi cleaning the dishes, he was about to say something'but the words wouldn't come out of his mouth. He tried again, but nothing.
He moved backwards, and went to his room. He lay down on his bed and thought to himself. Why couldn't he tell Gopi to pack her bags and leave. He wanted her to leave with all his might. But why did the words not come out.
He shut his eyes, and saw Gopi. She was smiling and then she looked downwards in that shy manner that he had seen so many times before. Aham wanted to open his eyes again, but couldn't '.He drifted off to sleep with Gopi's image in his mind.
Gopi cleaned up the kitchen and thought to herself. The time had come.
In the middle of the night she would pack her bags and leave. Quietly without and noise.
She couldn't do this with everyone around her. It had to be quick and quiet.
She went to her room and packed her bags and placed her wedding photo on top.
She looked around and quietly left the house leaving a small white envelope on her bed.
She had already made arrangement with Jeetu Mamaji letting him know that she would be coming to the house as she needed to sort something out. She needed to be near her Mama.
Gopi left quietly and didn't look back once, if she did, she wouldn't be able to leave.
