My parents emigrated from India, and Iwas born outside India and I have lived in U.K. and Canada. I wonder whether I would be allowed to live in India. Do I need a special perrmit to live in India and though I do not need to work, would I be able to work if I wish.I wonder what would it be like living in India after living in western contries for so many years. Any information will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes you will have to get a visa to live in India and apply for a job . You obviously are a Naturalised citizen of U.K . Although the first generation(i suppose that are your parents) can apply for dual citizenship -means have a citizen ship for India and U.K(not sure if U.K allows this .....but i know U.S does). I don't know you (second generation Indian in U.K) can or not .

Why not check the Indian immigration website.

As for living in India after living in U.K , most people have a hard time adjusting.
