Friends, unlike most of you, my love affair with MKAP began in the month of March when there was a complete recap of all episodes. That Sunday was truly a red letter day for me. I was blown away by the sheer impact of its hard hitting dialogues, brilliant performances and unique concept. The first few months of MKAP were like a drug, once you get on it , it became very difficult to get off it. Today in the midst of all these negative news about MKAP, I am forced to wonder if this a new trend of downslide or the CVs and actors never really cared to hold on to this masterpiece they had created.
Like everyone else even I was absolutely bowled over by the character of Krishna. His passion, wit and temperamental attitude, everything was drool worthy. There is no doubt that AB did a great job with it. But did he do anything to ensure the character of K stays on as an unforgettable one.. What was ever done by the actors to promote the magic of MKAP. Nothing. No together interviews, appearances etc. It's true we do get to see Pooja but she is busy promoting herself not MKAP. I know comparisons are odious but look at Laliya-Shekhar, Manav/Archana, etc. I feel the actors are not too loyal or happy with their POPs and this shows up as indifference. Except for AS, no one is too loyal to the character they are playing.
It is absolutely impossible for me to believe that the CVs who have given us such memorable characters and pithy dialogues could even think of this present track. But then is not the first time, the Prof''s decision to go in for a Jail bharo andolan was equally ridiculous.
Is it possible that this magic of MKAP was not a deliberate creation of masterpiece but just a stroke of beginners' luck. Forget about the viewers, even the makers and actors did not anticipate the spell it would cast on everyone. MKAP has become like the proverbial white elephant. No one knows what to do with it. It is too good to let it die and to keep it alive would take too much of effort.
The Cvs, the POPs, the actors are not willing to invest MKAP with everything they've got.
The producers have Pratha, Pooja may move on to other shows, AS and Asmita are seasoned actors, there won't be any dirth of work for them, AB and AH will have each other. Us, the loyal viewers are the biggest losers in this 'game' show. !!!! We had invested this show with too much of our emotions. No wonder we are feeling shortchanged now.

😔😭😕👎🏼😡🤢😒...I think u may be right....this huge success of MKAP is just a fluke it seems....there was a time when I would not have imagined a day without watching MKAP and Kriya.... I knew that day would come eventually but I didnt have idea it would come so soon...i mean lately i have not been watching any episodes...it doesnt give the same feeling to me anymore which is a shame as the show had soooooooooooo much potential to rise above its own set standards but no one seem interested....such a pity!!

There was a time when I used to watch all repeats. But these days I just read the updates. Personally I feel a sense of loss as I don't watch other shows and after this heartbreaking experience, I will not take that risk again. I feel jealous at times to see how strong other shows are still doing and how infectiously happy their actors look.

Mili good for starting this post. i also don;t know what is happening in MKAP. Last couple of weeks looking at the face of the casts itself u can see something is not right. they were tensed there was no smile in their faces. Pooja who used to tweet and giving interviews was not giving any interviews, now also not so often. ya the show was liked by a lot. People liked it because it was different and the originality and the way krishna speaks, the thakkur family and all. we get attached to it. u r so right. now it seems like it will go down. no one knows what will happen. but in my heart i wish them to solve all the problems and it should go for one or 2 more year. i know the cast will find other shows and other show will come and we will find one we like. but this show was so special.

U know I feel awkward to say so, but I guess I can be honest among friends. I kind of hope and pray that there is nothing about AB in Entertainment sections of news channels. K is such a loveable character that whenever I see AB as he is, my illusions about K gets marred. None of the actors do anything to promote the characters they play infact with their offscreen behaviour they destroy the charisma of characters. Without promotion of any kind, it is difficult to market anything these days. Tell me what is it about MKAP now that is going hook new viewers. We have fond memories. New viewers will have nothing to bind them to MKAP. Sad but true.

Hello Mili,
Really nice post.I started watching MKAP solely because I felt it was an unique serial awakening the mass in social issues specially on woman. Slowly I started liking the chemistry between the main leads kriya. It was a bonus for me.
My problem with MKAP has always been that it is not only important to show the social atrocities but to also show the consequences. They never show the consequences or the punishment of the crimes been shown. There has to be a balance in the act.
But above all the current track has left me disgusted and frustrated. Bigamy is not only a crime but it is derogating and immoral. The fact that they are pursueing this on mational tv has wiped off any respect I had for the creative team.
I am disappointed and wished things would have been different .
Thanks again

sharmila i think i am the only one who felt happy after reading yeterdays article😕 i felt happy that atleast actors showed the courage and being vocal about there problems.because intially we all have been speculating that something is fishy behind the scenes but noe atleast we know what was that.i disagree that actors havenot done anything to promote the show noooooooooooooo.they have been giving interviews together doing masti on sets we fell there hapiness but since july they stopped all this or lessen it because thry r not happy within and which reflects on there faces i am right now feeling pitty for actors .all the actors have given there 100%to the show and still giving in despite the fact they r not happy with the production house. i wanted to applaud them for that👏👏👏👏👏👏 for me the magic of kriya is still there having the same goosebumbs and i beleive when u r working together these issues arises with the management i hope producers will sort out this matter asap and please think positive
right now our show is going thru a bad phase they need our support

Hi Mili,
Great post.👏
Like you I used to watch the episodes online, then the episodes shown on tv even though I had already seen them online first, then the repeat telecast😆🤔....each day nearer the broadcast time I would be consumed by thoughts of the show. Now it has been quite a few weeks since I even watched an episode. The urge to do so is gone, ruined by the direction the story is going, the way the characters behave (even the lead pair) and off course the tired dialogues.😔
As you said it was even a fluke that this show hit the ceiling...because frankly speaking the cast and crew seem to have no affiliation with each other or even a common ground in promoting the show. More importantly, for me, I would like to watch characters who go through adversity, become stronger and learn from their actions....this show MKAP seems to have been frozen in time, the lead characters, and others, going through the same old motion and speech without even remembering their past actions and repercussions.... every now and then a token 'passionate' scene is given to appease those crying out for that - frankly I even find those scenes very cold now, especially as the actors in concern look like they would rather have their eyeballs pulled out than be there renacting their scene....Now the story has even veered into an asinine direction, which I doubt it will recover from -and if does it will be at the expense of those loyal veiwers who had been watching from day one.
The creative team had a brillant character in Krishna which they failed to utilise at all. That is a shame. Even if the show isn't on it's last legs, I doubt it would ever recapture the magic of the early few months....when they went to such lengths to butcher that character time and time again.
I am not interested in the real lives of these actors, I don't want to know them nor can I relate to them. Unfortunately, lately the rounds about personal lives had been too much that even if I wanted to ignore I couldn't...that coloured my perception of the show even more.... After all there is no such a thing as bad publicity....where certain people have been reclusive to the point of being a hermit suddenly now are on all the wires, there is only one conclusion that could be drawn...pastures new beckon and that old thing 'be out there, show what you are capable of' is being cultivated.
The blame doesn't wholly lie with the actors, in fact a fair proportion must be laid at the Production and Creative team. I can only think of one thing, their time and energy is being directed elsewhere...perhaps they are too confident, relying on the strength of the show to carry them for some time while they concentrate elsewhere. Whatever the reason, it is a shame to be limping. If I was the creator, I would end it on a high...rather than dragging on lifelessly and thus sullying the memories of the show.

I personally think that the makers of these shows have no moral or social statements to make. They show social atrocities just so that some viewers may get their salacious pleasure out of watching such degrading scenes. Its like the rape scenes oh-so-common in the movies of the 70s(spcly the heroes'sisters). They served no purpose but provide cheap thrill. Socially relevant, true picture of the society, emancipation of women are nice terms. They sound good So what's harm in using these terms?

I understand that and that is the reason there is a sense of loss that I can feel. However my respect for them would increase so much more if they open a channel of communication with viewers. We are crying hoarse about this track but they are still persisting. The actors never make an effort to interact or even do something pleasant for the viewers. I mean we are fools or what?
