Hey gals,
Just couldn't wait to get back home and log-in.......still kinda reeling from last night's "going down RBO lane" experience!
Loved reading everybody's posts, and but naturally, couldn't help thinking of the RBO moment when i fell hook, line, and sinker for it!!
For me, it was more of a gradual process, being with the serial from its "delivery" date, 😆😆 5th April, 2010! Shaan and Khanak's first encounter definitely got me intrigued; here was a show which actually seemed hatke...... a gaon ki gori who could speak her mind and a sheher ka munda who wasn't trying too hard!😃 Thereafter, it was one great emotional roller-coaster, but never ever OTT, with attention to detail.....to lines, to situations, and most importantly to the characters.....such refreshing stuff, really, especially for a setting that could hv so easily become run-of-the-mill!!
But if i had to put my finger on that one RBO moment which made me "fall" for it, it would hv to be an exchange between Shaan and Khanak, just before the KKH sequence.....the ice has broken, they're both warming up to each other with the playfulness and all.......Khanak wants Shaan to see reason about his self-centered ways......Shaan, being Shaan has a reason for everything, why his mistakes are not mistakes after all......and THEN, as the proverbial bolt from the blue, Khanak says "Aur Suraj ki maut? Woh.....Woh, kiski galti thi?" Gosh!! That was it, for me. Here was a gaon ki gori who actually held the promise to be a sheher ka munda's "type"!!!As for my all-time favourite RBO promo, hv to second Saaz's choice; the one in which the three shades of Khanak, the playful girl throwing caution to the winds, the sombre yet fiesty widow, and the young woman in the first flush of love, a metaphor, really, for the changing dynamics of the ShaNak relationship. And aaah!! The lines....they were to die for......such depth and not heard in a really long time! The proverbial cherry......the forehead touch.....nobody does it better than these two, really!!Also, kinda like the promo (a pretty recent one) in which Shaan and Khanak are on the sofa and kinda reminiscing about their journey......"Hum mile, phir lade; phir shadi hui, aur bhi lade; phir dost bane, aur zyaada lade"........CVs, original thinking👍🏼👍🏼 , and finally, as a balm to the "kabhi khushi, kabhi gham" bit, Shaan pulls Khanak towards him and simply says "jab saath mein ho hum"! Such heartfelt, unpretentious lines, followed by ShaNak's lovey-dovey moment......Gosh, i'm actually smiling to myself as i type this!!BTW, me too loved Khanak's smokey-eyed look in the KKH sequence, not to mention the hint of cleavage that was kind of peekaboo through that sexy blouse!!😉😉 As for Khanak's make-up, my eternal favourite is Yashu's natural dusky complexion which came out so beautifully in that Pune hotel sequence western wear get-up, which now alas, seems hard to figure beneath the layers of pancake!!Ok guys, am going to be like really tied up with work this week; so much as i'd like, may not be able to blabber incessantly......on second thoughts, knowing me, never say never.....the next post might just be mine!!😆😆
