Okay. Done. Watched Videos 3 and 4. Yay!

All right. I did not find the realization sudden but part of the puzzle that had been puzzling me as a viewer. You see, during the court scenes, I was confused at times by the expressionless Rudra (which emerged in certain points of time at the courtroom) which kept me guessing what he was thinking. And then I thought he might still be angrily unhappy but today I realized i was mistaken as to the reason: He is not angrily happy at Gauri but at life which always seems to shortchange him (of what he wants). But the nuance of his expression also suggested softening at times in the courtroom and today I finally realized (also) that softening was indeed for his old "friend" Gauri but partially on account of how a hidden part of him kept hitherto making it clear to him that her pain is real, her pain for him...and then his eyes opened to the fact that her love is as real...as she is willing to stand for him when he did his worst by her.

Let's face it: In our own lives, when we are confronted by a bad situation, we feel better if we can blame someone, anyone other than ourselves. But today in accepting kismet's role and his own impotency with regards to what happened with Pihu, I felt Rudra matured towards understanding that no matter what he would have done, Pihu would still have been propelled by kismet towards Abhay. Rudra finally accepts what happened and now understands what Gauri needed him to grasp previously before he changed her kismet and his own by filling her parted hair with vermilion: that her only fault (if this can be termed fault) lies only in loving him and not telling him of her own accord and not in that she wished to separate or separated him from Pihu.

I liked the scene like others did when Gauri wiped Rudra's lonely tears, lonely like him, but not lonely in the truest sense because Gauri is there with him...to take away his sorrows simply by being and giving her understanding. Loved that moment. Moments like that make believe in the power of friendship and yes, that sneaky little thing called love...

Sincerely,
Ek Umeed
