07/12/2010 | Vierendra Bhargav Blue Carpet for TV's Babes 'n' Beaus'
It was a tunnel of the tinsel!
The long dazzling burrow leading up to the entries for The ITA Awards was ornate and lit up glitteringly. There was still time for the glitterati to arrive and Arjun Bijlani, dashing in a knee-length black coat and Rati Pandey, smashing in a silver-bordered black Sari and matching blouse, had just posted themselves there.
There brief was to greet the glitterati coming in!
And they were resolute on not letting anyone go past them without a naughty chitto-chat. Armed with mikes and cameras, the twosome was all keyed up and raring to go at their Starry quarry!
They didn't have to wait long for the kill!
Soon enough, the dudes & dolls of TVstaan started trickling in. Designer dresses, rustling satins & chiffons, dapper suits and ethnic drapes ' it was a rainbow of haute couture curling in there.
They flashed pearly smiles, broke into booming guffaws, simpered and simmered' the beautiful people were in their most elated elements.
And you gaped at the coquetry, the la-di-da airs heaved at the oomph & the aura and went into a spin at that storm of the Starry kind! And while the storm raged on, Rati & Arjun were fiercely onto hobnobbing with the Star brigade. They cornered them with tongue-twisters, went gaga over their dresses and teased the nominees about their chances of winning the Awards.
They hit if off with the very first arrivals. Pouncing upon the big screen baddie, Shakti Kapoor, they got him to squeal his trademark 'Aaauuu-Aaauuu' again and again. And the big bloke did it most sportingly.
Raza Murad was asked as to why The ITA is so important that be it TV, Films or whatever, all of 'em flock to it like the bees flock to honey? And he intoned in his grainy bass'
'Oh, that's easy! Arre bhai, ITA is India's Oscar!'
Uttaran's duo of the dishy Nandish and the delicious Rashmi tried to skirt the two hunters, but were caught by them instantly. 'Come on, guys', gushed Rati, 'So much dressy, dressy and running away?' The duo smiled sheepishly as Arjun leapt onto them, 'Hey, what is this, so matching, matching both ' it's a signal to things coming, no?' Nandish was in knee-length deep blue velvet coat and Rashmi in a golden skirt. Nandish blushed'
'Well, we've tried to be colour compatible this evening! 'Only colour?' ragged Arjun mischievously and the duo went crimson!
