I agree with you. I feel today the singers should try to break such barriers & try to come up with something of their own.

When it comes to private albums, the major hindrances are quality music, promotion, piracy, & lack of sponsorship. First of all if the songs are really good than the album will definitely work eg Sonu's album Deewana had really good songs & it click with the audience. Piracy will always be there, as we prefer downloading songs rather than buying a whole album cd. I dont think Sponsorship is a big problem at least not for singers like sonu, shreya, sunidhi, etc, they themselves must be having funds for that. I mean even reality show singer like abhijeet, rahul vaidya charge minimum 4 lakhs for performing in concerts, then these professional singer will charge atleast 20 lakhs, and they have atleast 2 to 3 concerts every month, plus they even go for abroad tours too. They have been singing for most of the movies for quite a long time now & they even get paid for judging reality shows. So I guess they should be wealthy enough to invest in their own album.
