Both have their own niche in the industry and are good at what they do. But I would rank Terence above Saroj Khan because of the following reasons:
1. The people who are related with art or any kind of performing art needs to be really flexible and accommodating. Conservativeness doesn't go well with the artists as it can take toll of the art. Conservativeness don't allow to experiment and therefore a kind of stagnancy comes in the development of the art. Saroj Khan is very conservative about her dance and her dance lack innovation. Terence on the other hand loves to experiment and is successful in making an individual trademark style and the best thing is that he don't stop. 😳2. There are few comments of Saroj Khan that really turned me off. She calls the floor work of contemporary or other western dance as " yeh sab baar baar zameen pe girna"... she sounds so novice... as a dance master you cannot give such lame & general comments. She is all about her old school bollywood dance. 😕3. As per knowledge base of the master is concerned Terence ranks very high. He not only knows western dance but also know the Indian folk dances very well. Currently he is learning Chhau dance.4. Lastly, a dance master should always stand for the dance.... Terence is so good at it. 😳 Saroj Khan is partial....I watched four reality shows with her as judge... and the best part is that she makes no effort to hide her partiality 😆 ... In Nachle Ve also.... she was partial for Tejaswini & Swasti....though the clear winner was Vaishnavi & Vatsal 😃. The reason which I can make out is her Chak Doom Doom connection with them...but Terence never do this with dance.P.S. What I liked best about Terence is that he made no effort to keep Shakti under his guidance in the show..... he happily let her make the total use of the opportunity of learning bollywood from Saroj Khan.😳
