not even really "young, hip or cool" ppl wear those types of clothes! none that i've seen anyway

He wears loose and comfortable clothes when he is teaching dance, so that he will have more flexibility - clothes always hinder dance, especially in western dance styles, since the dance moves are such that the loose ends will cause more mishaps... He wears designer outfits for his appearance as a judge, and he has a stylist for it...

For one, he never behaves "like" gay! What kind of behavior does gays show, I wonder?! 🤢

He is the King of expressions!! He has proved that many times in DID show!!! When he teaches female dancers, he has to show apt expressions for females, and he does that. That's how a good dance master should be, and he is definitely one of the best!! He needs to show female steps with the same kind of graceful moves for them to learn it correctly, and he does that.. But that doesnt make him a female or someone like a female!!

Madhuri Dixit is a trained dancer, and also extremely graceful and beautiful too. So when she danced for Saroj's choreography, she had her own contributions in the way she showed energy, her expressions and smiles, and her incredible moves and flexibility. So her "added" contributions made her dances popular and still remain popular. Saroj has done choreography for several other actors in Bollywood, but everyone links her name with Madhuri for the same reason; others couldnt bring such beauty and grace to her dance steps the way Madhuri did..

I am not saying Saroj isnt a good choreographer - she is, and definitely way better than many who came before and after her.. But she has been doing the same dance steps as the one in the original movie number for her sessions, whereas Terence has to create an entirely new act, not only in a different dance style but everything becomes different from the original when he does his choreography for those songs - that shows his genius creativity!! 😛

Saroj Khan's choreographed many hit songs for bollywood and her speciality in Indian- classical and bollywood and IMO she's amazing at that. Terrence is more comfortable in the western styles- samba contemporary salsa jazz etc. and he's a wonder. Saroj Khan has choreographed Madhuri Aish Rani and many other top actresses. Today these actresses are known for the moves they did in their songs.

Saroj is very critical and sometimes I feel like she judges the dancers and gets some technicals wrong but that's just my thinking.
I really loved the moves in 'Dola Re' and 'Ek do teen' (Madhuri's songs) and my thinking is that even today's choreographers can't create the magic that Saroj's 'ek do teen' simple move did or the 'dola re' sequence that was staged perfectly.

Both have their own niche in the industry and are good at what they do. But I would rank Terence above Saroj Khan because of the following reasons:

1. The people who are related with art or any kind of performing art needs to be really flexible and accommodating. Conservativeness doesn't go well with the artists as it can take toll of the art. Conservativeness don't allow to experiment and therefore a kind of stagnancy comes in the development of the art. Saroj Khan is very conservative about her dance and her dance lack innovation. Terence on the other hand loves to experiment and is successful in making an individual trademark style and the best thing is that he don't stop. 😳

2. There are few comments of Saroj Khan that really turned me off. She calls the floor work of contemporary or other western dance as " yeh sab baar baar zameen pe girna"... she sounds so novice... as a dance master you cannot give such lame & general comments. She is all about her old school bollywood dance. 😕

3. As per knowledge base of the master is concerned Terence ranks very high. He not only knows western dance but also know the Indian folk dances very well. Currently he is learning Chhau dance.

4. Lastly, a dance master should always stand for the dance.... Terence is so good at it. 😳 Saroj Khan is partial....I watched four reality shows with her as judge... and the best part is that she makes no effort to hide her partiality 😆 ... In Nachle Ve also.... she was partial for Tejaswini & Swasti....though the clear winner was Vaishnavi & Vatsal 😃. The reason which I can make out is her Chak Doom Doom connection with them...but Terence never do this with dance.

P.S. What I liked best about Terence is that he made no effort to keep Shakti under his guidance in the show..... he happily let her make the total use of the opportunity of learning bollywood from Saroj Khan.😳

@Sash -- So well said!!! 👏 I am so happy to see you here, Sash!! Most TL fans are absent here...

Honestly I feel Saroj has very little knowledge about western dance forms! That doesnt work well as a judge.. Terence on the other hand has great knowledge about almost all kinds of Indian Classical and Regional Folk dance forms, and he has amazed me several times on DID when he stood out as the best judge who knows what he is talking about, and not a single form was there that he didnt know of.. All the viewers learned a lot from him, along with the contestants and all... Remo and Geeta also know a lot better than Saroj when it comes to different dance forms - no offense!

Madhuri is a trained dancer and she is extremely graceful and pretty, so every time she danced for Saroj's steps, she made them appear extraordinary, whereas none of the other actresses could do the same. A dance master should be able to make anyone dance with grace and confidence and achieve perfection! Terence has done that so many times in DID1 and DID2, and even molded many untrained dancers to dance like professionals on stage!!

And btw, Terence is trained in Indian classical too, not just Western dances.. That's why he is so good with expressions and mudras.. And as Sash had said, Terence is a very impartial judge.
