3/12/10 update: coal...coal.....coal

Prabha is ordering her servants to prepare for puja when puru asks her whats the matter on which she replies him that guruji is going to come in the haveli. At the very next moment guruji comes in when prabha and puru goes to welcome him; guruji asks prabha why she didn't invite him for yuvraj's wedding but then he said that people usually don't invite the saints when they are happy but remember them when they are in sorrow. And there is something wrong going in the haveli that is why she called him. prabha then tells him that there is something wrong going in the haveli which vrinda and sunita sees from upstairs. Vrinda asks sunita what is this new drama?????? On which sunita replies that he is guruji and prabha has very much faith on him and he has intuitions to recognize people. On which vrinda says if the god is with the jagirdars then her baba is with her.

The puja gets over and prabha asks her doubt to guruji on which he replies that there is someone who has evil eye on this haveli and he is from the family itself. Which shocks prabha and she asks who is it???????? Guruji replies he must be somebody with whom you had some arguments on which prabha replies that now a day she always has arguments with DK and sarla, hearing this sarla gets irritated and sarcastically says may be the person might be sandhya, which shocks vrinda. Prabha then asks her from where sandhya came in between on which sarla says that what DK said about vrinda must be true!!!!!!!!! Guruji then suggest that the only way to find out the person is everyone will have to walk over a hot coal. Hearing this everyone is shocked. Sarla then yells that now we all have to give a test about how much we all are loyal towards this family.

Guruji then makes a bed of burning coal on the floor and explains everyone that the person who has deceitful intentions towards this family will get his legs burn on which vrinda says that this is drama. Guruji hears it and throws a piece of a cloth in that coal which catches fire; vrinda and everyone gets more scared, she then says it's a real fire. Guruji shows them how if their heart is sinless they wont get any wounds in their legs, he then walks over the coal and doesn't get hurt.

Prabha( I guess she already walked) says sarla that its her turn to walk over the coal but she refuses to do and instead she points over vrinda that this girl will walk over it first. If vrinda walks then nobody will have to do so coz the real culprit will get caught. Yuvraj then says prabha, how would vrinda walk over the coal and why will she have any deceitful intentions towards our family. Sarla then yells that this girl has bad intentions to the family. Vrinda then interrupts that "I am true person which I have already told you people. apun sachcha hai apne pet mein chikne ka bachcha hai" saying this she stoop towards guruji and walks towards the hot coal. She then prays to the god that "sita maa too faced the similar problem which I am going to face. My life has always been problematic and if you still think punishing this people is a crime than punish me or take me to the other side safely."

Only one question if guruji has the power recognize a person properly then why didn't he recognize how much the jagirdars treat others brutally……strange😵

I missed DK in this coal scene……imagine what would have taken place with him, if he would have walked over it…… I guess he would have turned into ashes.😆

The idea of using hot coals to verify a person's virtue is really old, and makes an otherwise very realistic show very filmy, as Vrinda herself put it. By this theory, a lot of Polynesian (like in Fiji) would pass such tests w/ flying colors, since it's such a common thing among them.

I think, in answer to your above question, that Guruji did detect that, and encouraged Sandhya to walk so that she'd clear herself easily and make it easier to manipulate this family. Also, I doubt that Prabha was even tested, since she was the one complaining that someone is trying to rip the family. But a unanomous refusal by Sarla, Vrinda, Puru & Sunita would have scotched (in a manner of speaking) that experiment. And no test for the daughters of Sarla?

I'd like to see Vrinda, after taking the test, demand that Auntyji/Mummyji & Chicknya take the test. But I hate to see her walk barefoot in that house in the first place, let alone barefoot on hot coals.

So anyone thinks Vrinda will be unscathed?

this coal thing is a bit ridiculous...an age old practise being followed still in some rural places...dunno why they had to bring it up here!!! atleast going by the jagirdar family neither do seem to be god-fearing nor do they believe in culture n values(unless they are deep-neck in troubled waters!!) though i feel sandhya/vrinda might not undergo the test at all...atleast yuvi wud be afraid to lose her if she gets herself burnt..so he wudn agree to it!!
