Ankita/Archana and Sushant/Manav

Haven't read all the posts on the wedding etc.but now that we're getting to watch some sustained and relaxed sort of sweetness between the leads at last, I have to say this: of late when they've had a romantic scene it hasn't seemed like they're acting as Archana and Manav, they somehow become Ankita and Sushant instead. This is particularly so of Ankita: Archana hasn't bestowed naughty smiles before this,rarely - if ever - teases Manav, or dances in tthumkaas with her hand to her face or hips, and who'd have thought she'd ever call him "cute"? (Yaaay, you go girl, we think so too!) It's Ankita we associate all these with. And then Manav talking quite facetiously about "bonuses" and watching her with a grin as she vents her annoyance over Dharmesh's interference.... Perhaps I'm just too used to their normally staid on-screen personalities. Perhaps also, we're all primed with stories of their real life romance, and too fond of their quite adorable SBS/SBB banter. Though those are probably all scripted skits too, and who knows what the real people are actually like? Whatever the reason, it feels unreal to watch them this way on screen. The only romantic scene that seemed true to character was when they took cover under the kitchen counter: Archana and Manav appear to suffer from a serious phobia about getting physical whereas Ankita and Sushant.... for their own sakes, I truly hope not!

Don't get me wrong, ladies! I definitely also prefer this sort of episode to the usual tears, mawkishness, and affected sentimentality. Merely remarking on the complex - yet, when you come to think of it, strangely simple - convergence of reel and real life.

@ TB: you surprise me again and again with the very grown-up way in which you read/analyze what you see. Are you really sure you are who you tell me you are??? Did you do anything for Thanksgiving? I had desi friends in the US who would make turkey kababs because they couldn't take the blandness of roast and stuffing.

I'm surprised that I still surprise you; I write what I feel, that's all. If you would like to see me at my juvenile best then look through the past few ArMan Heaven threads, where I excel at apparently "besharam" banter. Recently I had most people convinced that at ITA Ankita gave Sushant not only a hug when he won, but a kiss too; a topic thoroughly inconsequential for all of us but nonetheless fun to see reactions regarding. And yes, I am very sure that I am the same nerdy 17 year-old that I told you I was. 😆

We had our usual large family gathering for Thanksgiving. We have both traditional American fare alongside desi delicacies. For me and some of my cousins it is a beautiful moment to see turkey with all the fixings meeting bihari kabab and karahi chicken on our plates. 😆 Finished it off with homemade monthar and burfi, making for a successful Thanksgiving meal if you ask me. Though I doubt it keeping in mind your current location, did you do anything?
