See what Sanjay Leela Bhansali has to say for our dear @shreyaghoshal :) :
Q: Shreya Ghoshal, your discovery, has not sung in this film. And yes, how does it feel to have launched someone who is even after eight years the last major female talent in Hindi film music?
A: That girl has reached such a pinnacle that not singing in one film of mine where she could not fit will not affect her! And why should I take credit for her brilliance and hard work? I was just destiny's tool. Had my mother not come running in to call me and hear a teenage girl on "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa," a television talent-hunt, because she felt she was extraordinary, I would not have set my eyes on her.
When I contacted Shreya through the channel and asked her to meet me, I was -- for no particular reason -- humming Laxmikant-Pyarelal's classic "Jeevan dor tumhi sang baandhi" from "Sati Savitri" since morning, repeatedly marveling at the stunning creation and how it must have come to Laxmi-ji. When she arrived, I asked her to sing any song she wanted, and she amazingly started singing the same song, giving me gooseflesh with her rendition! That's destiny. I knew then that I had found the voice of Paro.
