Jennifer Winget.

An actress you ask? An actress is someone who can make you believe that what you're watching is real. Can make you believe that what you're watching isn't anything but reality. An actress can make you believe in them, and their talents as a professional. Time and time again we've seen actresses from all around come and shed their share of talent and input, but we've never seen one to put their full potential, full efforts, their full talents into use and make a character come alive. I beg to differ. I have seen one actress who has time and time again proven that she is the one that is/will change Indian Television. From the age of sixteen, this girl has proven her talents to her audience.

She is one the most charismatic, successful, beautiful, intelligent, and above all, perfect actresses one can search for. To obtain such qualities is rare, but Jennifer Winget makes her work effortless. Some need glycerin to make their acting seem real, but she doesn't. Some need to "understand" their co-actor in order to reach some common ground, and create chemistry, but she doesn't. Some need to sound like a broken tape recorder in order to confess their love, but she doesn't. Some need to re-read their dialogues repeatedly in order to seem real, but she doesn't. After all, she is the one and only Jennifer Winget.

Through time and time again this woman has shown how dedicated, compassionate, admired and understanding she is towards her work, and her co-actors. No matter the off-screen tension, no matter the bakwaas in the media, she shows her devotion to work and proves that she is fit to be portraying Ridhima (Gupta) Malik. Ranging from vamps (KHNK) to the protagonist in DMG, Jennifer has shown and proved her admirable skills and talents.

Some say that she's not the original Ridhima of DMG, remind me, does that even matter? What matters is, is that this woman made the character of Ridhima Gupta come to life and bring her to such standards, no other character has been cherished as such. Jennifer has changed the definition of Ridhima once and for all. Her simple gestures, and actions cause a drastic change within the overall aspect of a scene, of a character causing you to want more. This woman is no less deserving than any other, if in fact, she deserves much more.

Call me biased, unfair, rude, or even words rhyming in the dictionary with "witch," it won't alter the fact that Jennifer Winget has proven her dedication through various ways. From her promise that she'll be the "third and final" Ridhima, she has shown her professionalism towards her work. No other actress can compare to who this woman is today. Jennifer's complete acting ability is such that other can compare. Her chemistry, bonding, friendship, nautanki, nhok jhokes - it's all evident on set, and off set. No matter where it is, it's all natural. To come across someone who is completely natural, is nearly impossible - but we have it here with Jennifer.

Do you feel the need to be shown some evidence to prove that what I'm saying is actually correct? Well now, take a look at these...

Do you call someone else cute?

Do you call someone else adorable?

Do you call someone else compassionate?

Do you call someone else admirable?

Do you call someone else hot?

Do you call someone else perfect?

Do you call someone else passionate?

Do you call someone else Ridhima?

Do you call someone else Armaan-Ridhima?

No matter what phase Jennifer has been put through as Ridhima, she has always been successful in every one of them. Through separation, deprivation, social ethics, responsibilities, love, friendship, morality – through them all Jennifer has proven her outstanding skills each and every time. Her overall presence gives a positive vibe giving the overall scene a whole different impact. Her cuteness, naughtiness, nautanki, admirable moments have all pushed Jennifer to her full potential producing some of the utmost stunning scenes in the history of Indian Television.

This woman is profound in all of her projects and always completes them giving her full, 100% potential. To come across a woman like her today, is nearly impossible. Such charisma, such passion, such skills; she's simply unique. No one, absolutely no one compares to the woman she is today. Complete and utter perfection.

- Phatttttttttty.

DISCLAIMER: Keep the peace, or I'm sending my MDR gang after you (jokes). No but seriously, be respectful for what I've written - if you're going to be negative, and spoil my topic, hop offffffffff. I got no time for bakwaas. Diiiiiiiiip. PEACE! (:

Dudeeeeeeeee....like dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! How much I love you for writing this post!

Ok you know what, I'm just going to come out and say what I am about to say...which is this... 😊 Ok she wasn't the first Riddhima, nor was she the second Riddhima but for me she is THE Riddhima. I've seen a few members saying that they never saw her as 'Riddhima' and I won't even disrespect their sentiment but going back to the 'original' traits of Riddhima, she was fun loving, spirited, mischievous and basically a girl who loved to have these nok jhoks with a certain man called Armaan. Apparently, Jenni changed the role in to a more depressing one. Once again, check the common sense in thyself and ask WHO writes the scripts? Erm certainly not the actors. Look at the examples Phatty has posted above, they were all traits of the original Riddhima, the girl we could all relate to. Her entire voice modulation, facial expressions and body language were completely DIFFERENT. She has played Basket of DMG 1 and Riddhima of DMG 2 so differently that it takes me one glance at her expressions in a cap for me to know which Riddhima this is: The one who lived life or the one who was lifeless.

IMO, once JW sunk in to the character's feel, she could basically sleepwalk through playing 'Basket'. Not saying its an easy role but for an actress of her level, nok jhoks were up her sleeve. Slowly she just started adding this whole new essence to Basket and obviously the creatives had enough confidence in her to dedicate almost 3 episodes just on TALLI Riddhima. Those episodes were all about her. If an actor has the ability to take scenes to a whole new level, why not give her something more challenging to perform?

She was always Riddhima. Jennifer Winget didn't take anything away from the character and nor did she change anything, she just added a whole new dimension to the role and literally became Riddhima.

Jenni rocks my chaddis RESERVED!

Edited -

FIRST off MDR gang warning had me cracking up! LMFAO! Anyway the topic is just amazing like the girl herself. Seriously Jennifer Winget is a class apart. I would like to say that you brought up the point that some say she ain't the original Riddhima. I would like to ask what is the definition of "original" Riddhima? In my eyes and any sensible person's eyes the original Riddhima should be who brought out the true essence of the character. Someone who stuck through with the character no matter what. Someone who didn't give up on the show and continued to portray her character until the end of the show. I am sorry to say but the ONLY person who fits that bill is JENNIFER WINGET! She is the only Riddhima I know and love. Not only did she respect her character enough to have stuck with it through thick and thin but also the show ended with her being Riddhima. Also she didn't portray Riddhima at one point of the show and then play another character in the same show hence she is the only one who is the TRUE, REAL Riddhima.

As I always say Jennifer Winget is epitome of perfection :) There is no bias in that because I realized that fact when I wasn't even a huge JW or even a KaJen fan. ROFL it's hard to believe I went through such a phase :| We all make mistakes I guess :P

Anyway meri pyari si chutti si bahu rani Fatiummmmz I loved the topic <3 Your topic and Jennifer are amazinggggggggg just the way they are tehe

Ahh lovely topic Phatty! Jennifer Winget's a gem of a person, not only a wonderful generous human being, but an awesome, dedicated, professional actress who loves to entertain her fans with her work!

You know she wasn't the "original" Riddhima as some people love screaming all around IF LOL, but what does the freaking word "ORIGINAL" mean anyways! I think its just copyrighted by a set of fans here on India Forums, oh wait, DMG FORUMS!l LMFAO🤣

JW's better than the best! She gave this show, the character a whole lot of persona! Sure, she may have gotten the worst Riddhima to portray from all the actress changes, but she did it, she acted as a professional and gave her character the best! People that blame her for ruining the character, grow UP! It's her job and she was so commited to it that she stood to this show and character till the end!

All in all, im proud of JW! For all the reasons mentioned above and also because she once said in a interview, shes gonna be the last Riddhima, and despite the ups and downs, she was <3 GOD BLESS YOU JW <3

@ bold - I can't help but quote that part LOL I gotta say I LOVE and admire that girl for sticking to her words! That's what makes her such a professional and an amazing actor to be a fan of because I have seen many actors "promise" not to leave and shiz but ppl hardly keep their word because it takes a true professional to do so. Jennifer makes me proud to be her fan :)

Fatti tu rockstar hai yaar!! 😆 What an amazingly brilliant post on our JJ!! Maar Daala....

Jennifer Winget - What should I say about her? Words fall short yaar. Seriously she is one TV actress who has made me crazy 😆 I didn't know about her so much prior to DMG but when I went back and looked at her previous work history...I was stunned...both by her beauty and her talent! I had seen her in 'Kuch Na Kaho' in a small role but just watch her closely in those few scenes she has...She is not the main lead mind you, but her expressions speak volumes.

Coming to television...I caught up with her work in KZK and Sangam...BRILLIANT! There is a scene in KZK that I will never forget where Sneha is in jail her father (Anurag) comes to visit her. I was completely stunned by her performance.

About being Riddhima - She perfected what Riddhima was supposed to be. So what if she is not the 1st Riddhima, to me Jennifer Winget IS RIDDHIMA ❤️ It was through her phase when Riddhima went through every possible human emotion from nok-jhok to romance, from passion to grief, from pagalpal to depression... you name it, it was there...it was a complete phase of life when Jen took on and completed the role of Riddhima...It was the time when we saw Riddhima go through some insanely weird life challenges. To be able to express her emotions perfectly for each phase and to be able to give the right feel to the audience...That's a true actress!

Innocence, Beauty, Modest, Fun, Grace, Loyalty, Cuteness, Talent - She is a complete package - JJ, You Rock 😊 I will love this girl forever! Just like Juhi, Kajol, Madhuri and Rani will be my favorite movie actresses for life, Jennifer Winget will forever be my all time favorite actress 😊

Fatti...Thank you for making this topic 🤗

I beg to differ

I certainly dont differ on one point that JW is indeed an awesome actor. I have seen her since KZK days and have always admired her potential

But I could never see her as a "Riddhima" ...... frankly, all three actresses had their own version of Riddhima ....... but in Jenny's Riddhima , I could not see the "innocent and childish stubborness" that was the very base of Riddhima ( which is the very base of creating two completely star crossed people fall for each other)

Ok let me explain : Riddhima was supposed to be a principled girl, with some idea of the kind of guy she should be with, bold and extremely vocal, fun loving, extremely stubborn and pig-headed, but at the same time, an innate childishness and innocence, that was the very base of Armaan's initial attraction towards her. She was like a dheent baccha , that Armaan used to get frustrated with and yet love her to distraction.

Jenny's Riddhima was shy, principled, fun loving, vocal, argumentative, everything that Riddhima was supposed to be...... but I could unfortunately never see one component : that mixture of stubborness + innocence together.......maybe cant explain this well to you ( for this I have to try to remove this fangiri ka parda to make you see what I am trying to explain .... and I know thts impossible...... thr are all kinds of fan groups now a days, and if there werent, a show would nt succeed and would not get its TRPs)

What I am trying to say is, its true that Jenny's Riddhima had gone to the mature phase, but in doing that , her expressions and body language had gone too ahead in the mature phase ..... I could no longer see that innocent obstinacy in her, and tht is wht had attracted Armaan (maybe it was the creative 's doing ..... cant exactly pin point where ..... but somewhere down the line, Riddhima was lost ) ...... Jenny's brand of obstinacy did not have any bachpana anymore, and that bachpana was very important to the very base of Riddhima's character.

In all this, I must admit Jennifer has been an awesome actor...... I could really applaud her scenes, and I must admit she is indeed one of the finer actors on Telly today....... but each time I saw her onscreen in DMG, I saw Jennifer more than Riddhima.

Riddhima was to some extent retained even during Sukirti's time ..... though maybe a little less fire in her ( but then that was the phase of Riddhima understanding Armaan's complexity and trying to accept him as he is .... so maybe a certain amount of docility needed to creep in)

So have I stirred a hornet's nest by now ? 😊

@mysterygirl123 - Do me a favour, and read the disclaimer. If you've got a different POV, I respect that - but I just have to say that with life, comes change. With life, comes maturity. You're not to stay in that same phase of childishness and immaturity all your life. You are to progress as a person, and you are to progress within your life. In order to do that, your attitude, and your character changes. Ridhima had gone through many phases in her life. After Armaan left, her body heat sequence was one where she could not behave childish and immature - it was a moment for her to speak up, and behave in a more sophisticated manner. Also, the fact that she got married, twice, and got divorced doesn't mean that she must stay as a regressed character not moving on into life. As a woman, she changed, as a character she changed - and Jennifer Winget portrayed Ridhima perfectly. Though she came in during the later stages of AR's relationship - that was what compelled her to behave more sophisticated, and more mature. Hence her character's improvement. It in fact isn't Jennifer Winget's lack of potential, but the mere fact that the script had matured itself causing Jennifer's character, Ridhima, to improve and mature. The mere fact remains that she did not only portray one Ridhima, but two - Ridhima Gupta and Ridhima Modi. If you were to watch DMG, you could see the potential change within the woman herself portraying her character. teh seriousness, intensity was all caused within the circumstances. As I stated earlier, with life, comes change. With life, comes maturity. You're not to stay the same all your life. One has to move on and accept their surroundings, and their environments. While doing that, you adapt to what's around you, and your character changes. hence in my eyes I see Jennifer Winget as the perfect Ridhima.

I agree with what Phatty just said!

@mysterygirl: That "innocence and stubborness" you are talking about was gone the very day the serious track of Riddhima finding Armaan came in DMG. Riddhima came back to DMG 2 as a mature person whose lifes tragedies ( shooting, Shanky lying to her that Armaan left her, etc, etc) had made her change herself into a different girl than what RIDDHIMA was, and if I remember correctly, the character even said this in DMG2 in a scene at the cafe when she's explaining to Atul, Abhi, Nikky about Armaan leaving her..etc..etc..

Oh and also you're saying you never saw Riddhima in Jenny, respected..but are u then concluding you never saw her in DMG one, like around April 2009 time? Cause that was RIDDHIMA there

SO DMG 2 was focused on another aspect of Riddhima-Maturity whereas DMG 1 was stubborness innnocence cuteness, etc, etc, etc..so it was a step UP the ladder honestly! Life is all about maturity! the character grew, and was confused with life in DMG2!
