šŸ˜‰ Ok, I am not talking about box office hits or how popular the actresses were this year. One simple word: verstaility. And without a doubt, the most verstaile actress this year is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. I as a fan believe she played four interesting roles in the same year, a damsel in distress in Raavan, a typical heroine in Robot, a retro girl of the 70's in Action Replayy, and a dedicated caregiver/nurse in Guzaarish. And Aish tackled every genre (action-thriller, science fiction, comedy/fantasy, and drama).
I don't think any other actress was more verstaile in 2010. Vidya did a interesting role in Ishqiya, Kareena doing comedy in Golmaal 3 and a serious role in We Are Family.
Who else do you think was verstaile this year? Please share your thoughts...😊

If you had asked who is the most versatile actress overall then honestly without any bias-ness I would have chosen Rani.

But since your question is limited to this year only, then I must give due credit where it is deserved despite the fact that I really dislike this actress. Versatility wise for this year and this year only I think Aishwarya has shown it all. The roles she has portrayed in each of her films this year have been different from the other. And regardless of the fact that some movies didn't fare well at the box office she has shown her fans and the audience that she is capable of doing various roles. She's definitely proven that.

For this year alone I don't think any other actress has really shown much versatility in my honest opinion. Sure the roles that some actresses did in their films were different from the other. No two roles were the same. But I just don't think justice was done to those roles. Nothing much noteworthy.

So for the most versatile actress of the year I'd give the award to Aishwarya. =)

I can't speak for movies that I haven't seen...Therefore chosing Deepika wouldn't be just since I haven't seen LP, BKB, & her upcoming one with Abhi.

The only Aish movie I haven't seen yet is Guzaarish.

I think Deepika has been extremely versatile! Each film this year was so different! Shonali in KCK, Sandy in Housefull, Pinky in LP, Aaliya in BKB and now Kalpana in KHJJS. Wow!

Aishwarya of course! Agree eroticlover! Then Katrina for me because she has never done a movie like Raajneeti before and then Deepika! The rest always do those kinda movies.

Well when i define versatility, i mean the variety in the skills & the variety in portrayal of a role, not the variety of choices of movies one actor has. I will still say vidya cuz maybe she didn't have a variety of movies this year but the the way she performed in Ishiqiya was different from the way she performed other roles in the past. So the award goes to vidya =P

Well versatility for me means different roles done well. The key words being done well. I don't think doing 10 roles in the year, but only excelling in 1 makes you versatile.
Out of all Ash films this year, I only saw about 20 minutes of Robot and I had to take a painkiller after whatever she did in the movie because I am sorry but it cannot be termed acting. I am also not interested in torturing myself and watching Raavan or AR for that matter. Guzaarish maybe just because of Hrithik.
As for Deepika, I saw KCK and Housefull only and umm didn't think much of either movie or her role--so can't pick there.
Honestly speaking, out of the movies I've seen this year, I can't think of any actress this year that was versatile.

šŸ‘šŸ‘ Completely agree. You can't choose 5 random roles from the basket and be called versatile just because you chose those roles. Not unless you excel in it. I don't think Aishwarya was particularly versatile, she was very annoying in AR, proving yet again that she can't do comedy. And we all know what happens to her when she does the typical eye candy roles like in robot. As for Deepika, same thing again. Yes, she took the effort to pick and choose roles that would showcase her versatility, but unless she excels in all of them, she can't be called one either.

Priety for example did a lot of varied roles in her career, but she never came across as a versatile actress at least not to me. Because even when she was playing the pregnant teenager, the psycho obsessed girl, the cop, or the common prostitute, she just seemed like she was playing Priety to me, there was no particular effort. She was just Priety in a different get up. I could never get into the skin of her character because frankly speaking she never convinced me.

BTW, Priety fans before you jump on me, let me tell you that was just an example. šŸ˜†
