I want Madrid to win but I think a draw might be more likely. Hope Busquets doesn't crowd CRon like he was doing during the friendly and that our defense keeps up their performance. All we really need to do is shut down Xavi and Iniesta - that will considerably lower how threatening Messi can be. As for Villa, well, he was born offside so I'm hoping he stays there for the match :)

Though I don't really follow La Liga as ardently as the EPL I have to say what a mouth-watering fixture! Truly the match of the year! I'm supporting Real Madrid in this one too, and I honestly think the match is theirs to win. They look incredibly strong and stable as never before. Plus Guardiola is simply not as good a tactician as Mourinho.

Still, it's at Camp Nou, so a draw is prolly more likely with a win happening at the Bernabau. There's an interesting tactical preview of the match up at: http://real.theoffside.com/team-news/el-clasico-preview.html#more-4220
On another similar note, I'm happy to hear that Khedira and Higuain are back for this match, especially Khedira - he provides such a stability and defensive solidarity to the team - quite vital and underrated for RM in my opinion.

This is prolly one of the few times I'm rooting against a team in which Messi is playing! Hopefully RM win, though I will not be disappointed with a draw. A loss, on the other hand, would be disappointing but not devastating given that I'm not a big RM fan! But I really do hope they win this one - 4 losses in a row is too much for a team of this stature! Most of all though, I want an exciting match - a 0-0 draw would be seriously disappointing given that I'll be watching it in between classes since annoyingly the football gods decided to schedule only the biggest club match of the year on a frickin Monday of all days.

@ShadowKisses: It's so good to see you here! And you make a good point in your post - Neutralizing Xavi/Iniesta would go a long way to neutralizing Messi since they basically provide the supply to him. On another note, Did you see Portugals hammering of Spain 4-0 in the friendlies?

I want Barcelona to win this fixture against Real Madrid. It's going to be a tough match for Barca knowing that Mourinho won them with Chelsea and Inter Milan. However, Real Madrid didn't beat Barca in the last five or so matches and it may give them the confident to overplay Real Madrid. Who am I kidding? It's going to be a different (more tactical) game with Mourinho, but I still want Barca to win and Messi to score some goals.

Yeah, Real Madrid should block out Xavi and Iniesta - they do form this awesome trio with Messi, and the quick, short passes are simple Barca tactics! I hope Messi doesn't rely on Xavi or Iniesta, but at the same time I don't want him to go deep looking for the ball.

SK, you're abs. right about David Villa.

All in all, it should be an AMAZING match. Some goals, please!

Excellent performance by Barca, totally ripped apart Real. Real were never good enough in the final third and never used the ball as well as Barca did. Game was marred by harrassment of the ref and little silly things from both sides, but put that aside a well deserved win for Barca!

I'm a believer in the alien theory now. Pretty sure they abducted our guys and sent replicas who forgot how they had been playing for a while now. Of all the people I expected to eff this up, Xabi and Khedira were the last I would have thought would be invisible. This game went a long way in reaffirming my somewhat lost love for Higuain since he connects best with the other three and Benzema isn't ready to be a starter just yet. Oh well, we'll come out stronger for this. Tabloids can suck it.
I love Ramos but I wish we had been a tad more dignified towards Puyol, at least. Far as I'm concerned, Xavi is fair game. Still, I did relish the return of El hot-headed Ramos. I think he now leads the RM red card table - in the shortest amount of time too. 11 red cards in 5.5 seasons to Hierro's 10 in 14 seasons.
I'm obviously biased but I thought the ref was not justified in some decision he made. Also, could just be my bitter self but I thought we were losing the game more than Barca were winning. Save maybe a player or two, it didn't even look like we wanted this.
@ ProdigalStudent: Same here :D and yess, I did watch Portugal's thrashing of Spain. It was glorious and went a short way in easing my resentment towards Spain for beating Germany twice. CRon's goal which was disallowed because of Nani's mistake was fantastic. Equally great to see Postiga back on NT and scoring. Ah, the retired players need to come back because I haven't seen Portugal play this good since 2004-06. Oh, since you watch EPL, did you see the Spurs' comebacks against Arsenal and Liverpool? Amazing!
I'm going to get properly drunk for tomorrow now. Cannot deal with friends who are smug Barca fans.
