I JUST DON'T GET IT
This show that so many of us watch loyally, this show that started out with such a tender, unique heart warming touch is periodically growing ugly black patches that cannot be sold to viewers as beauty spots because they are so apparently warts and any other explanation is an insult to the average viewers intelligence.
Pavitra Rishta ' A pure relationship
I for one think the title is apt but constantly being butchered in application by the CVs and I would like to ask Why? I just don't get it.
There are certain emotions, certain relationships and certain situations in life - Love for one's soulmate, one's child, one's parents and even one's siblings and the Blessing of Matrimony and Parenthood - that are supposed to be pure and sacrosanct so that we can have a thriving society.
But the purity, simplicity and morality of the lives of the characters is repeatedly butchered for the most irrational and improbable reasons
A) Archana and Manav's Divorce
The characters developed as a couple that are made for each (in a most fundamental way) with their union both destined and divined.
Strong devotees of Bappa and "model" children are shown callously and in a most incomprehensible manner discarding their commitment to God, to one another, to the families and MOST IMPORTANTLY to themselves for the sake of a erroneous offer made in the most irrational of moments. Why? WHAT WAS THE NEED TO DEGRADE THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE to gain a few TRPs?
Then they were shown having a perceivable "bigamous" relationship as an ode to their previously discarded and callously dissolved marriage. Another disrespect to the Bappa, their families and themselves.
As viewers we pleaded, requested and petitioned to stop this foolishness but sadism won over rationality.
Then they were shown to "wed" with no vows, no witnesses, no morality - just crazed emotions. Why? If you could send them to a mandhir now why eraze sanctity and tradition then? What is the message you are sending and gullible people are buying lock stock and barrel?
B) Varsha's Abortion
A mother is shown to callously END THE LIFE of her child not as a last resort but as a retaliation of a nagging mother-in-law and a trip abroad. Is this what you think your viewers really want to see? A mother betraying the invisible bond between herself and her babe in womb for a materialistic reason? What happened to the Pavitra Rishta here?
C) Baby Sachin's Abandonment
Sachu has always been used as a pawn or as an afterthought. Why?
Today, you have finally butchered another most cherished commitment/institution/ relation - you have butchered Shravani as a mother. Why?
A parent - child relationship is sacred, pure, and all consuming. A mother -child bond even more so. A mother nurtures first from within and then in society-at-large. Her love and that invisible bond instinctively acts as a shield against invisible and visible forces. SO WHY WAS SHRAVANI THE MOTHER SOLD SO EASILY?
What can you say today to convince me that Savita's grief was so overwhelming and gut wrenching that it caused Shravani to abandon her child in such a magnanimous and foolish gesture?
A mother's love and presence in a child's life is not a triviality. In fact, it is the envelope that nutures, supports, and shields the most precious gift she has. It is much more necessary than that of a grandmother's.
Motherhood has constantly been mocked in this show - your despicable plots where Shravani's motherhood was discounted to sensationalize the ArMan separation and now the battery to show the fallout from an ArMan Reunion.
STOP showing these emotions, these relationships and these responsibilities as trivial, dispensable, matters of convenience.
STOP showing children as pawns and mothers as callous destructive creatures. Preserve the most basic of value systems.
Does sensationalism have to be achieved at the compromise of a value system?
Enough is Enough.
If you want to show that Savita's grief is so overwhelming that it has touched a deep chord with Shravani then let Shravani invite Savita to live with her as Sachin's grandamother. Show an eligible bachelor accepting Shravani and Sachin OR Show Shravani making something of her life and deciding to focus her life on Sachin.
- Savita has always wanted to run away from her own miserable life and live in grandeur
- Damodhar apparently can do without her
- If Savita leaves Sachin will gain a grandmother and ArMan will get a home again where we can see a simple, pure lighthearted love story than the sadistic drivel you are feeding us till today?
Why do you not give us a win-win solution like this that still is interesting enough to watch and garner you TRPs without attacking relationship moralities and insulting our value systems time and time again
You made the MOTHER OF ALL BLUNDERS with the divorce and almost lost your entire fan base. Do not repeat the blunder with another mother.
You have shown Shravani rethink her marriage with Manav. Show her rethink and rectify this decision too.
Try to preserve the theme in your title rather than mock it consistently.
KEEP THE "PAVITRA RISHTAS" PAVITRA and use other themes and ideas for your sensationalism.
Hope
