OK people, here it is. The much awaited (I hopešŸ˜‰), translation thread. There was not much of BJ dialogues in today's episode (thankfullyšŸ˜›), so it is kind of short. Please let me know what you think of it. I am open to suggestions😊 I personally still feel that the glossary thread might be better, but bow to your wishes. 😃😃😃
Please keep in mind that I have translated, not transliterated….that is to say, I have not used just the English words for the hindi words….rather translated the thought. Would hate to point you to the wrong direction in terms of meanings….so please be careful…specially the non-Hindi speakers. For e.g., the most common English word for "khana" is "food" ….but in this situation, I used "feast".
Precap:
Ab yeh kaam jaun tum na kar sako, to rivaj ke anusaar rasoi mein tum dubaara na ghus paaogi.
Now, if you are not able to do this task, then according to tradition, you will not be able to step inside the kitchen anymore.
Ab dui ghante mein ee sab niptaaye lo.
Alright, it should not take you more than two hours to finish all of it.
Ab Babuaji ke samajh mein aayega….sona samajh ke jaun laaye the, oo to pital/tambe se bhi gawa gujra (guzra) nikla.
Now Babuaji will see, what he thought was pure gold is no more than mere dross.
Babuaji!!! Kahan chal diye?
Where are you off to?
Yuhin zara jaa ke aarahe the….kuch kaam hai Bhaouji?
Oh nothing particular…why? Is there something you want me to do?
Kaam? Lo….ka baat kar rahen hain Babuaji!
Do? Ha…what are you talking of? Have you forgotten?
Arrey aap jaante hain pehli baar aapki dulhin khana bana rahi hai,aur aap aise hi chal diye?
You know that your bride is preparing the feast for the very first time….how can you leave without eating?
Chaliye, tanik kha ke jaayeeye. Ab itna bhi jogi nahin baniye….chaliye….ka soch rahen hain? Waise bhi agar aap nahin na khaayenge to kisi aur ko swaad nahin aayega…chaliye.
Come, have something before you leave. Don't pretend to be a saint…..come on! What are you thinking ? And you should know, no one will really enjoy the meal without you!
Babuaji, aaj aap bhi dhek lenge ki aap ki dulhin kaune zimmedaari nahin utha sakti hai….khana banaana aur khilaana to bohat hai door ki baat hai… ha….wo chukariya na to aapki biwi banene layeq hai aur na to is ghar ki bahu…
Babuaji, today you will finally find out that your bride is incapable of shouldering even the smallest of responsibility………leave alone preparing a feast and feeding the guests….she is not even worthy of you, this family and this haveli.
Literal Meanings of words:
Peetal/Tamba: metal alloys Copper/Bronze
Swaad: Taste, delicacy
Zimmedari: Urdu for responsibility.
Chukariya: derogatory term for a young girl; wretch
Jogi: Hermit, ascetic; one who has renounced the pleasures of life
Dulhin: Bride
Laayeq: worthy
Rivaj: traditions, customs
Anusaar: according to
Rasoi: Hindi for kitchen
Dubaara: Second time
Niptaana: accomplish a task, complete it.
I hope you like this and please press the like button, if you do.
Comments, suggestions and questions are awaited.😃

Thanks CB, 😊...she didn't have much to say todayšŸ˜‰.....used her evil expressions to convey her evil thoughts😔
I thought of including a list of words at the end to give the literal meaning, for reference. Probably this list will be really long for some episodesšŸ˜†
Happy that you liked it😊

when she speaks less we understand
when she has heavy dialogues all go bouncer

i liked the way u presented it for hindi speaking and non hindi speaking

u know i m actually from hindi medium
my base language was hindi in school and it turned to english much later

hence i m more comfy talking in hindi though english is not bad too but heavy words i cant understand in english too hahaa

Hi Vista 😊
Thanks Tonns 😊
This thread was actually required here cz Bj's lingo is so hard to grasp. Half of the tyms its like bouncers fr me. Is it the bhojpuri language ??
And i need to compliment u for this wonderful translation tht u've done. It makes things much easier šŸ‘ 😊
