Basically in short Bollywood is trying to "copy" Hollywood.

But what I personally fail to understand and digest is why is there gender discrimination against woman in bollywood?

The censor board made a huge issue out of Rani & Aishwarya smoking in their films NOKJ and Guzaarish respectively. However when our beloved male actors smoke in films they don't care to intervene and make an issue about that. Same goes with foul language.

In all honesty is foul language & smoking scenes far more worse for the "under age" than sex scenes are? I think not. And I'm highly disappointed with this stupid censor board!

Is it culture?

Anyway, you don't necessarily have to embrace the culture or lifestyle of people of the west or any other places to watch their movies. You can watch such movies from a neutral perspective, and then go on with your daily lives. You don't have to take what they show at a face value. Personally, one of the prime reason why I enjoy watching movies and reading books is to gain a basic knowledge about different culures and places. It's not necessary that I accept them. But what's the harm in seeing and expanding my horizons?

bollywood is losing its charm. back in days the songs were colorful less wanna be american lyrics in songs, less nudity n sex. i dont mind sex scene but only if it's needed in the move but nowdays its shown for either to publicize the movie or the stars.directors should stop copying hollywood cuz if they copy hollywood the there is no bollywood left.

It's not just Bollywood movies that are getting "modernized" (whatever that term means). The lives of the average citizens of India and other South-Asian countries are changing too, so why should movies be any different? To many, movies are not just a mean of escapism or entertainment, but a form of art that depicts the culture of the place and its people. And the culture is changing and the movies are evolving in some way or the other to meet the demands of its viewers.

Obviously we can't have movies like DDLJ today, because frankly, most would not be able to relate with it like the way they did in the past. Movies, no matter how fluffy and unrealistic, will always have some resemblance to reality, and if the the reality is not remaining the same, why should the movies?

Tradition isn't always the best, and change isn't always for the worse. In many ways, India has actually evolved for the better and so did the movies.

I agree with what you have said there. Time have changed, people have changed, the world has changed. These days people can't relate as much to movies like DDLJ because things aren't that way anymore. Movies have modernised so they can relate to the people of today!
However, sometimes some sex scenes aren't necessary in the movie and are just there for nothing. Having bits of English in Bollywood songs is no problem but sometimes it does just ruin the whole song. That's my opinion- you may not agree with me!

It's like Twilight for the oldies with its cheesy and "happy ever after ending" . 😆 As for RNBDJ - the less said the better. That said, I don't like these Love Aaj Kal wannable-ish either.

Yeee but Housefull was more realistic👎🏼??????????. Movies like Veer and Zaara have a sense. You can lear from them. But fro these stupid, ugly, disgusting movies like Housefull are just WASTE. I cuttently hate Farah Khan making such bad movies.
