In the particular advertisement, Aamir plays a hairdresser who doesn't pay heed to his customer's instructions as to not touch the top of his near-bald pate. Aamir's character turns a deaf ear towards him and continues with the haircut. When Aamir turns around at this point of time, one can clearly see the sunglasses hanging from his collar at the back of his yellow shirt.
"Aamir was aware that the style was made popular by Salman but he still approved of the look because he felt that the audience will immediately connect with him in the ad," says a source.
When the look was designed for Aamir, everybody expected him to reject the look because it had become synonymous with Salman. In fact, afterDabangg was released it had become fashionable for college kids to hang the sunglasses from the back-collar of their shirts.
"Aamir was very receptive to the idea that even if he copies Salman in the ad, he would be pulling off an authentic act and had faith in the originality of the dialogues and way he chose to portray the character. In fact, he thought that the film had impacted the segment of people that he was portraying in the ad which is whycopying Salman's look would only lend authenticity to the character of the hairdresser," the source ends.
