The show is more about contestants thinking on their feet, and coming up with innovative dishes. Or working under different circumstances - dhabas etc. It is indeed a different concept. The contestants were given 'Oats' as the ingredient this week in the 'Invention test'. One would expect a person to turn it into a normal 'breakfast oatmeal' dish. Instead, Smita added it to the stuffing in spring rolls, and used it in place of breadcrumbs. Kandla made a savory cutlet out of it for a sandwich. Its basically innovation.

There is no detailed description of the recipe, but one can manage to understand how the dish is being cooked.

As for the judging, agree with you. We cannot be directly involved in the judging. Thankfully, the show does not have public voting. Its more about the process than the result.

I guess it all depends on your point of view.
