First of all, let me join in to say that this was the most beautiful episode of LTL. We are all gobsmacked, emotionally drained but cannot stop feeling exhilarated for we all wish that we could meet a Dutta in real life. That is silly but one should dream..........š³
How would they otherwise be able to gauge truth from illusion, happiness from sorrow if they had not trodden the path of life, love and every single heart-wrenching pain and difficult, sometimes unbearable moments that it throws at you?
Is the illusion of love better than the reality of love itself? In other words, does the best romance exist in our dreams and not in real life? The day has come for Dutta to snap out of his dream existence where everything should be beautiful despite his "supposed hatred" for beauty. I know, I might have lots of people in this forum disagreeing with me but love and beauty can only exit when it is rational. Love should not be idolised as love has always hurt, however beautiful it is. And that is the essence of all things that are tangible and cannot be proven rationally. Yet, we become slaves to our emotions, to our expectations of a beautiful world where we have got to be the centre of attraction and importance.
This is the actual problem for Dutta. Throughout his surreal life on LTL, he has believed that he has been wronged and rightly so. But did he ever stop to ask himself why? Did he ever stop to analyse his environment? Did he ever ask himself if all the "love and affection" that was being showered on him was real? Did he ever question AS's motives and did he ever question why his mother who in his eyes is above all, even God" never stopped him from embracing a life which was bound to take him on a road full of darkness, betrayal, selfishness, arrogance, cruelty, emotional bereavement?
Even after DP's unveiling and his involvement in the shambles that his life became courtesy Kala and maybe AS if she turns out to be BH (I pray that this still is not the case as this will be the last and ultimate act of betrayal and the end of all humane feelings for Dutta), our dear Dutta did not, really, stop to analyse the new developments and its consequences on his life and of those around him. The signals were out and loud for him that he needs to get a grip on himself, re-ascertain and re-evaluate every aspect of his life but he, conveniently, shuts himself in a bauble again and goes on his journey of sorrow and a kind of self-prevarication that was only going to bring despair and heartbreak. So many instances jump to our mind when we look back and as late as a clear attempt to assassinate him on his stag night. He does not even pay the most cursory attention to Baaji clearly incriminating Sudarshan. He does not pick upon all the innuendos about beauty when as a Don or even a sensible ordinary human being, he should have let his curiosity get the better of him.
It is never late and thank the heavens for that, otherwise, the world, his world would become a very sad place. Thank God that LTL has to evolve and become positive and give him a chance to draw lessons in life, to learn that love is never gratuitous. You have to pay for carelessness, blind belief, selfless and senseless devotion to one's family including the one you love and cherish the most.
Ditto for Nakusha!!! However, much I feel sorry for her plight and a bitter estrangement (unless the TB article is not true), she will have to learn to make abstraction of her environment if she wants to win back Dutta. She should learn that not even a sliver of doubt should ever be allowed to impregnate the delicate relationship between a husband and wife (or lovers to a lesser extent). She should have known that marriage is sacred and that no exterior influence should ever be allowed to endanger in the slightest possible of what becomes a union of souls. Not even one's parents or in-laws. Respect and love will only grow in a relationship when one has been able to separate and distance oneself from all the trappings of unnecessary interference, undue and pervasive influence.
I did write in an earlier thread that "we, only, want to see Dutta happy. We all feel that it may be a very rough and turbulent ride ahead but who said that the union of two souls should necessarily be smooth and rosy. The stronger the test, the harsher the waves, the more beautiful the relationship will be as both Dutta and his Naku would have weathered the storms and perils of love."
This time, round I will wish the same for Nakusha and pray that CV's will allow her to come out of her cursory environment.
Really from the bottom of my heart it is going to be "Shubh Mangal Sawdhan" for TASHA. Even, if it is just on LTL and not in real life. I have like so many other lived the travails of these two characters, with such intensity that I forget that it is not real life. I should, probably, thank all the writers of LTL (however much I hate to do that because of all their bloopers) for allowing all of us to look at love, emotions, passion in a new light.
Let us all hope that the suffering for our two lovebirds is short-lived and Dutta and Nakusha, finally, be united as per Dutta's world of perfect and pure love.
