I thought it was the opposite? I don't see how you can group ignorance and innocence into the same category. Ignorance (especially willful ignorance) is the path towards darkness and not innocence. I'm not sure if I got your topic properly.

I think innocence happens through ignorance(to some extent atleast)?

Yes there is a major difference. Someone witnessed a crime. He doesn't remain ignorant of that crime but since he didn't commit the crime, he certainly is innocent.
Ignorance is the absence of both good and evil, innocence is the absence of evil.

Not all the ignorant are innocent.
Not all the innocent are ignorant.

Ignorant is devoid of knowledge or information.
Innocent is devoid of guilt or sin.

You can lack knowledge or information, but still act an think in a way that is devoid of guilt or sin. You act and think in a way devoid of guilt and sin, but still have worldly knowledge and information.

Unless of course if you eat from the tree of knowledge, then you are neither ignorant nor innocent. That makes all of us.

Both words start with the letter "i" and have 9 letters each
That is the only similarity.😆
ignorance = uninformed
innocent = not guilty
But ignorance of law is not a valid reason in case certain laws are broken ( like hanging around a muslim girl in Malaysia or throwing a cigarette butt in the drains in Singapore)😆
A first time offender may get a lesser fine.

Ignorance has a lot to do with intentional and unintentional learning of your surroundings.
innocent is like being naive about world around you. This only suits children up to certain age. In adults, it's scary.

Innocence and ignorance can be manifested as similar but guess, they're different. Ignorance is when you wilfully refuse to gain knowledge and innocence is when you don't have anything to do with it, all away, all sinless and everything!

Ignorance is not knowing something . Each of us is ignorant of some or the other aspect of life or subject as no one can have complete knowledge of everything.
What about innocence ? Innocent person is also ignorant in a way ,.. or isnt he ? 😕

Yep an innocent person can be ignorant too, but at least an innocent person is not guilty becoz he is already innocent.😆
