Written Update & Video Vampire Diaries Season2ep6

Katherine asks Mason for the moonstone. He promises it's somewhere safe. She says they'll live "happily ever after" when he gives it to her. He promises to bring it tonight.

At Elena's, she feeds Stefan a tiny drop of her blood to help him get used to it.

Jeremy visits Damon to tell him that Tyler isn't a werewolf yet but Mason is, and is looking for the moonstone. Jeremy says he knows where it is.

Prepping for the masquerade at the Lockwood's Jenna invites Stefan over for dinner that night. He says he and Elena are on the outs, but she heard them this morning.

Bonnie checks in with Elena outside, to make sure Caroline's not there. Elena wants to go somewhere to talk. Caroline checks on her mom in Damon's basement. She tries to talk to her, but her mom is having none of it. Then she asks Caroline if she's really dead. Caroline says she is and stays to talk.

Ric brings Isabelle's research from Duke about werewolves to Damon and Jeremy. According to Aztec legend, the moonstone sealed the werewolf curse. Ric thinks Mason thinks it might also break the curse.

Elena brings Bonnie up to speed on her fake fighting with Stefan. Bonnie is upset to be left out. Elena reminds Bonnie that Caroline needs her.

Mason sees Stefan setting up outside and politely says he's surprised to see him. He checks that they didn't do anything to the sheriff. Stefan says from now on Mason will have to do his own dirty work.

Mason bumps into Bonnie and she gets the willies. When he leaves, she tells Stefan when she bumped Mason she had a vision of Mason kissing Elena. Stefan says Elena wouldn't do that, then realizes that Katherine would.

Damon and Jeremy show up and Damon mentions that Jeremy is butting in. She tells him to stop, but he ignores her. Jeremy talks to Tyler about the moonstone, saying he did some research on it and wants to see it again. Tyler says he gave it to his uncle.

The Salvatore boys listen in. They grab Bonnie to ask her to help. Elena texts Stefan, wanting to know what's going on. When he doesn't immediately text back she calls him.

Damon wants Bonnie to touch Mason again and see if he gave Katherine the moonstone. He asks her about her pain powers on him -- she explains it's her giving him an aneurysm over and over again, but he heals. He wants her to do it to Mason, explaining he and Katherine are the bad guys.

Cut to Bonnie unloading a truck for the party and Mason offering to help. Then he falls to his knees in pain holding onto his head and Stefan knocks him out and they take him away.

Caroline tells her mom about drinking blood from bags from the hospital, so she doesn't have to kill. She says she can control her urges.

Damon and Bonnie bring Mason to Damon's house. Bonnie touches Mason and tries to see what she can learn. She says the moonstone is somewhere small and dark with water -- a well. Damon chains Mason to a chair.

Caroline comes up and says hi to Bonnie as she's leaving. Bonnie asks her if she remembers where the well they used to play in is. Caroline tries to talk to her more, but Bonnie says she has to go. Then she changes her mind and they head off.

At the ball prep, Matt asks Elena where Caroline is and if she's seeing someone. Tyler looks for Mason. Bonnie texts Stefan about the well. Elena goes after him.

Damon warms up a poker in the fire and singes Mason to test his pain threshold. He sees that he heals quickly. Damon asks about Katherine, then rebrands Mason when he doesn't talk.

Stefan walks through the woods to the well. Elena joins him. He peers down the well then jumps down. The water burns him. It's loaded with vervane. He can't get out and Elena can only watch helplessly from above.

Caroline hears Elena yelling and joins them. She throws down a nearby chain.

Damon continues interrogating and torturing Mason. Jeremy joins him with new of a plant called wolf's bane. Various internet searches say it's toxic.

Damon touches some to Mason's face as he asks again what Katherine is up to. It burns Mason. Jeremy watches uncomfortably as Damon shoves it in Mason's face.

At the well, Bonnie shows up and they lower Elena down into the well. Stefan's under water and covered with burns when she reaches him. She ties the chain around him and Caroline pulls him up. At the bottom of the well, Elena looks for the moonstone, not seeing the snake creeping up on her in the water. She finds a box just as the snakes goes for her. She flips it off and Caroline hauls her up with the box.

Up top, Elena sees how hurt Stefan is. She cuts her hand and feeds her blood to Stefan.

Back at the house, Mason says Katherine is getting the moonstone for him to break his werewolf curse -- because she loves him. Damon laughs at him. "Katherine doesn't love you, she's using you, you moron," Damon says.

Damon tells Jeremy to take a walk. He won't leave. Mason blubbers and asks Jeremy to help Tyler. Damon grabs Jeremy and tells him to get over it.

Mason says he loves Katherine but Damon warns him that she'll only rip his heart out. "Let me do it for her," Damon says, as he stabs him in the chest.

Ric and Jenna prep for dinner. Elena comes home.

Back in the basement, Caroline gushes to her mom about the day's adventures and how Bonnie wasn't mean to her all day. She notices her mom looking at her funny. Her mom says she's become a "strong, confident" person.

She tells Caroline they don't have to take her memories, she won't tell. She says she'll never do anything to hurt her.

Caroline tells her she knows she can trust her, but she knows her mom is never going to trust them. She compels her mom, telling her she'll remember getting sick with the flu.

Damon wraps up Mason's body as Stefan brings home the moonstone. Damon texts Carol from Mason's phone, saying he's leaving town. He sees the last number dialed and calls as Stefan warns him not to provoke her.

Katherine answers, wondering where he is. He tells her Mason's right beside him -- but his heart's across the room. He tells her about finding the moonstone and the fact that it was surrounded by vervane shows Mason didn't trust her very much. She tells him he has no idea what he's done. But she says she has a plan B, C, D and so on....

At dinner, Jenna gives the phone to Elena. It's Katherine. She asks if she enjoyed her romp with Stefan that morning. She replaced Jenna's vervane perfume and tea and she's been her spy for days. Katherine asks if Elena knows how easy it was to just suggest... And we see Jenna pick up the kitchen knife and stab herself in the gut.

At the hospital, Elena tells Jeremy that Jenna is going to be OK and doesn't remember anything because of the compulsion. It was Katherine's message that she can get to anybody. Jeremy promises that Katherine will pay.

Tyler comes to check out the masquerade ball, looking for Mason. Carol tells him Mason headed back to Florida.

Elena visits Stefan. He apologizes. She thinks it's their fault. He's near tears, waiting for what she's going to say. She says she's been selfish because she loves him, but it's over.

She kisses him and leaves. Damon stops her, saying he wound Katherine up, not thinking. She says it doesn't matter, Katherine won.

In her room, Katherine apologizes to someone for seeming rattled. She tells them her plans were messed with and she needs a werewolf. She checks with the person she's compelling: It's Matt. He's recites what he's supposed to do: Go after Tyler and don't stop until he kills him.
