I too think for some reason the plan was changed in the end and the brother became a sister!!!....
Although I was banking on Dutta's brother making Dutta J, par ab kya fayedaa...Dutta doesnt need to be J anymore...he is totally head over heels in love with Naku.....So, A male gender might not achieve much.....
Buta female gender might....like Parul states, A female might tame Dutta easily then compared to a Male sibling.....Also, there is an interesting possibility here---What if the sister is brought in to introduce the contrast between the evil trios (I still have hopes in Roops though) and a true sister (not just by blood but by deeds)...I wanna think that because as I was telling Parul, I want Madhu to be +ve.....Dutta deserves atleast one true blood relation on his side!!!
