RD/Gulzar team had given immortal classics....Kinara, Aandhi, Kitaab, Mausam, Parichay, Golmaal etc....

Thanks for bringing up this topic. His story was much simmilar to that of Asha tai. She was also type casted for long as cabaret song singer, in spite of singing many other sobre numbers, she was finally able to break free her image with Umrao Jaan. Pancham had done a lot of collosal works but he received his recognition after his demise. He never touched the high during his life time as he is enjoying today.

i also noticed that his life was very similar to asha tai's. at least though, asha tai is still alive to receive the right honor she did not receive then.

RDB died not so well off and there are so many songs he even composed then that have not been released

Piya bawri is very much there in the film Hariom ji. It is raag nat-bihag.
Pic on rekha (Asha is Rekha effect) on house top, if one has seen movie.
