Just watched Saturday's episode. Did they use tracks instead of live musicians? Does any one know why? Use of live musicians distinguished Sa re ga ma pa. I hope they bring it back.

Are you talking about last week's three hour episode when Kareena came?

No, it's okay, I just did not know which week you were talking about. 😆 Because that week it was prerecorded.

I'm not sure if they used tracks or not. I was kind of wondering that too because I did not remember seeing the camera on the musicians.

Why have they taken away the live band we do not know.

But since few years they have been using tracks once voting starts.

Live bands are the best part of the current SRGM, I do hope they bring it back, singing on track is diff than live band, it is possible to insert support harmonics & vocals which will undetected by many. At the same time once you lose taal it is difficult to contain, normally most of the tracks would be over in 120-140 beats/matra for a 2-2.25 min rendition.

Lip-sync is not possible on live as well.

I suspect some thing fishy with tracks, it became point of hot debate in X factor when they started using track with vocal software to favor some contestants.

I just miss how there used to be live band throughout the season! They need to bring it back b/c only then we can truly tell who is capable of what.

Hey thanks for all the replies.

In the Big Golmaal episode, I think contestans are singing with tracks and I felt some songs were lipsynced too. I personally like the live band and I hope they bring it back.

If I am not mistaken, now-a-days while recording a song, do playback singers sing to tracks already created and recorded by the music directors?
