and with sasha questioning her in front of the entire office, and blaming her, i think Geet did the right thing, she stood up for herself ... thats why, the words before the sasha and office scene happens is of her talking to herself, about hw Maan had promised to be with her always but had now left her to deal with all this all by herself ... it was clear... if Maan would not be around, as her biggest pillar of strength and support she would have to do it on her own.. and what is she guilty of? she is carrying a child from a marriage! what right does anyone have of accusing her .. and why shd she keep quiet? by expecting her to keep quiet she is encouraging people to think wrong ...
i loved one line she uttered today ... she tells sasha ... " ek aurat hokar aap aisa kaise soch sakti hai .. ke ladki ki lagti ho sakti hai ..."

I too agree that this came from left field...........but i think its necessary...it needs to come out so publicly for several reasons....
1. Geet herself cannot see DEV roam around as he wishes......free to to what he please without having any consequences for his actions.......this will help SHUN him publicly...and possibly send him to jail.
she had made up her mind she would send him to jail.. she had promised herself this would never happen again to anyone else ...!! and like i said oopar .. she has nothing to be ashamed of ...
2. This needed to come out in the office, so that when she is together with MAAN...there is no question of guilt on Geet's part.....no one can claim that she is using Maan.....
they anyway never would .. and before such a thing would happen maan would readily accept the baby as his own .. but now with this turn .. she has relieved him of that burden ... in a way she is paying gratitude to him for what he has done .. unknowingly .. thats why she warns them... maan sir ko beech main mat layiye ..
3. The most BLATANT and logical reason is that they have to show something............how long can they drag the story.....they have to have atleast this week without GC too.........
this was the sole reason they twisted the story this way...
So this is what I could think of as possible explanations.................but in all this has some bad tastes in my mouth..............
1. I don't like that the whole world will know that it was Dev who made Geet's life NARKH....but MAAN does not know yet....somehow this does not sit well with me..
well they need to prepare ground for tensions between the two ... but then i would say .. Maan would feel proud of Geet, that she stood up for herself .. after all thats what he wanted .. he was more than happy to take care of her all the time, but if she handled herself well... what more would she want ... also maan getting stuck in the lift while she fought for herself could also symbolise the fact that, he may not always be there, though he wants to ... Geet has to at the end of the day fight some of her battles atleast on her own ...
2. I really wanted Maan to protect Geet form this public reducible.......guess I will not get my wish
it was the need of the hour ... but i am glad she managed this so well on her own .. m proud of her ...
3. Once all these RAAZ are out............how will they continue the story if Maan and Gaaet are paired together...................or wait.......does that mean SEPARATION for Maaneet............in the name of TRP's???
there is still loads of story to look forward to nags ... their separation may not come in the form of both of them fighting .. other things ... i am sure once Gurmeet returns they will have some light hearted episodes ... may be partial memory loss done in a comical way .. or both of them wanting to meet but not being able to thanks to the family, he is bed ridden and she cant take care of him .... the love in anycase will remain intact .. they will not break away from one another ...
when karan had an accident on DMG they showed him on the bed all the time ... they might give Gurmeet the time to rest ... an then show scenes of him on the bed, thats why they showed the lift collapse... Gurmeet might resume his shoot by the end of this week... he cant be stuck in the lift for a week can he?
