interesting post.. I guess everyone's opinion on marriage depends upon the way they look at it. It can be seen as a sacred bond, or even just a mere contract. Like you mentioned, I think the original essence of what marriages are meant to be has been lost over the years. It just legalizes the relationship between two people and that's about it. Obviously, it also depends on how the people in the marriage look at it. Some people will consider it with all rituals and respect what it has been built upon, while for others it's just a show they put on to make them look like man and wife. My personal opinion is that marriage is more than what an institution is. It's what ties two souls together as they walk through all their hurdles and triumph over it together. It's what builds faith, trust, and love. But sometimes I've realized that the only difference between marriage and live-in relationships is that marriages are licensed and have more guarantee, and are also culturally acceptable, while it's not all the same for live-in relationships.
