With our traditional Indian ways, things feel incomplete without a wedding every so often. Also our culture puts a lot of emphasis on the institution of marriage. Audiences love watching the leads getting hitched, rather than just left romancing or forever struggling to be together. And therefore, we have recently seen so many weddings taking place on-screen.

While some wedding stories were gradually built up, some came as a total shock to the audiences. And those aspects aside, what enchants the audience the most is the circumstances in which the weddings take place. The twist and the drama that goes along with it are more enjoyable than the fact that the leading couple have actually come together, or in some cases have separated. Geet and Dev's wedding from Geet- Hui Sabse Parayi
Geet and Dev were the ideal lovey dovey couple. Dev, a rich NRI hotshot and Geet the simple, sweet and beautiful girl-next-door. Their wedding is very hurried, the chat mangani, pat biya type. They have their roka on the day Dev sees Geet and approves of her. The program shows how both of them gradually falling in love in a short period of time.

Geet's family is really happy since Dev seems like a nice guy and his family is very sweet and loving as well. They get married at Dev's ancestral temple in a typical Punjabi wedding, with all the jazzy clothes and beautiful jewelry. But the aftermath of the wedding is what is most intriguing. The marriage turns out to be a sham and Dev leaves Geet stranded on the airport and runs away with his family and Geet's jewelry and money.
