First of all, I wud like to clarify that I dont like Rahul Vaidya.....
Secondly, I agree that "and the ability to learn and improve should be rated higher than being consistent", bcoz it shows tremendous potential. If u remember, Sana was a shy, gawky, inconfident person, who stood motionless and closed-eyed during his performances. He then transformed to a confident and charming performer. I know this, bcoz I saw his concert and he has achieved that electrifying stage presence. He's worked hard to get here. As Anu Malik put it, he covers the range between the tanpura and the dance floor. Plus, Amit had no previous exposure to singing in public, an advantage which Abhijeet held.
Thirdly, Amit's song was of a different style than Abhijeet's, but I strongly feel that his expressions in the song, as well as the purposeful softness of the music, gave Amit's version a definite heart-touching advantage. It seemed very personal and romantic.
I doubt that the voting system was for those two songs. If there are millions of appreciators for Abhijeet's version, then there are also millions who have loved Amit's one. After all, Amit lost by a small margin......
And, frankly, I lost faith in the voting system the day Rahul Saxena was voted out, which was soon reconfirmed with the voting out of Aditi Paul....
None of the above opinions suggest that I m sad that Abhijeet is the indian idol. After all, he worked hard too!!
TOTALLY AGREE WITH U, WELL SAID!!!
