Quick note: Dev isn't the bone between MaaNeet, it's Shakti. Geet doesn't have the "Shakti" to confess her true feelings for Maan. Now where to find this Shakti, eh? I just had to start my post with reference to Tuesday's final scene. Geet's random rambling and offering of chocolate to Maan was adorable. Icing on the cake was Maan's cheeky smile at the end. He is a passionate man but can be a cheeky boy when he wants to be! I absolutely loved that scene and I must mention the part where Maan holds onto Geet's hand...aah their chemistry gives me goose bumps! Now to the actual purpose of my post:
I was being really sad and read all the comments on youtube over Monday and Tuesday's episodes LOL!! While reading, I was quite surprised to see that a number of fans have adopted a negative approach towards Geet due to her hot & cold behaviour towards Maan. All fans are entitled to feel what they want, I appreciate that. But I can't seem to fathom why Geet is beginning to get step treatment. One comment in particular irked me in which someone mentioned that Geet was quick to establish a physical relationship with Dev, but hesitates to convey her feelings for Maan. I think such comments are highly unfair.
Firstly, both circumstances are COMPLETELY different. Geet had married Dev- well, that's what she had thought. He was supposed to be her husband. Hence the intimacy after marriage was natural. However, I doubt as to whether she really loved Dev in the first place. What did she really know about him? What real and genuine moments did she ever share with him? Establishing a physical relationship means nothing if the souls do not meet. That was the case with Geet and Dev. The only reason why Geet was so hurt was because the sense of betrayal was too much to take. Had she genuinely been in love with him, she would have still been searching for him.
Geet was naive, she was caught up in the whole idea of getting married, going abroad and having the perfect life. At that point she never understood the meaning of love or what a companion actually was. What she felt back then was just an illusion. Until she met Maan...
MaaNeet's relationship has progressed with time. From foes to friends, from friends to almost lovers. It's been quite a journey. So much has happened along the way and they both have come to the point where someone has got to give. But question is- why should it be Geet? I love Maan like the rest of you. I would be mad not to! But recently he has been a bit too pushy. It would have been better for him to confess his feelings first, then let Geet follow. But he is being slightly stubborn. It must be difficult for a girl to reveal her true feelings, especially after being previously betrayed. Geet doesn't have an ego, she is not deliberately making Maan suffer. She has tried to say what's in her heart but just can't bring herself to say it. That doesn't mean she doesn't feel enough for him. As they say, it is far more difficult to reveal your true self to the one person you love. When you truly love someone, fears and inhibitions creep into the corners of your heart not because you don't love that person enough, but because you in fact love them too much.
Geet needs to fight the mini battles that she has within herself in order to confess her feelings to Maan. She needs to overcome her fears, only then can she reveal her true self to him. We know that destiny has brought these two together. But love binds them together. They may have intense chemistry but that's one side to their complex relationship. Behind the complexity, and messiness lies a very pure and honest relationship that needs time. Love is not black and white- same goes for MaaNeet. And no one should expect Geet to start shouting from the roof tops. She was right to tell Maan that he always says he can read her eyes. Every time he looks in them, I'm sure he can read what he wants to hear. She laid out her life like a pack of cards in front of him. Why? That's love for you. What he thinks matters to her the most- period.
They say chance encounters can change your life forever. That is the case with MaaNeet. I firmly believe that Maan may be the second man to enter Geet's life, but he is her first love. After all, what is love? A single soul dwelling in two bodies. That pretty much sums up Geet and Maan for me.
Take care all,
