hey guys!!! finally done with tests!!!!!!! 🥳
im sooooo sorry for not updating!!!!! actually..one of my floormates is being super annoying and she's always behind me when im on my laptop so i haven't been able to do anything. as in i haven't been able to write new chapters because she always reads over my back and then asks me a bunch of annoying questions, i haven't been able to make a new vms because she's asking what and why im doing it, and i haven't been able to upload recent maaneet scenes because she ALWAYS here asking me why im downloading scenes of some hindi show and why im deleting certain parts and why im posting on YT and its freaking annoying!!!!!!!! me and my roommate (who btw is awesome 😊) have noooo idea what we're supposed to do to get her out of our room'she's like a permanent guest in here or something. ugh 😔 lol sorry for the rant, but i had to get it out lol.
soooo here's the next part! hope you guys enjoy it!! i tried to make it longer than usual..
ooh and can you guys please check to see if your name is on the PM list on page 1. i just updated, but i may have missed a few of guys when i was deleting stuff'..so please let me know if i missed you..sorry!!

Chapter 4
"About last night'" Maan looked up at Geet. Today, she was wearing a light orange salwar suit, her dupatta rested on both her shoulders, and her hair was tied back into a tight ponytail, again, but this time, she had left a few locks out to frame her face. He wondered why she never wore any American clothes'
"What about last night?" Geet interrupted. "Don't you dare talk about last night! How dare you hold me like that? Like you'that close'how could you?" She stammered.
"How could I? How could I!" Maan was almost yelling by now. "You're the one who fell. And must I remind you, had I not caught you, you would have been on the floor, okay."
Geet opened her mouth to say something back, and then stopped. She didn't have a good comeback. "Ugh," she turned back to her breakfast.
"I can't believe I was actually planning on apologizing to her, "Maan murmured. "How can one little person be this vain?"
"What?" Geet eyed him.
"You're so irritating!" Maan stood up, carrying his plate.
"I'm irritating?" Geet stood up. "You're irritating! You're always finding ways to fight with me!"
"I'm not trying to fight with you all the time. I was going to apologize."
Geet became quiet. "What?"
"I was going to apologize. I guess ' I don't know'" he watched Geet as she stared back. "You're so ' " he slammed his plate on the table and walked out of the dining hall.
Geet stood there shocked. She didn't know why, but she didn't want to talk about last night at all. She didn't like the idea that she had almost hugged him, or that he had almost hugged her, or that she had for some reason she had unconsciously pulled herself closer to him. She didn't want to hurt him and she didn't want to fight with him all the time. They had only been together three times since she had gotten here, and all three times they had fought. "Wait!" Geet yelled after Maan.
"What?" he turned around. He looked really angry.
"Friends?" she asked, holding out her hands. Maan didn't move. "Look, I'm sorry. I really am." Geet tried again. "How about we don't fight anymore. Let's just be friends. I mean, we are going to be living in the same house for the next year. We can't fight all year. So'friends?" she asked again, still holding out her hands. "Please?"
Maan couldn't help but notice how innocent she looked at that moment. Her eyes were big now, and her eyebrows were arched. She had a slight smile on her face and her head was slightly tilted to the right. "Fine," he smiled. "Friends," he shook her hand. He watched as her tiny smile instantly transformed into a huge smile. "You know, you don't look too bad when you smile. You should do it more often," he told Geet, as they let go of each other's hands. "You know, instead of fighting with me all the time."
"You don't look too bad either." She smiled. "When you're smiling, " she added. "You should try that more often. You know, instead of your 'angry young man' look all the time," she laughed. "Sorry," she said, still laughing, when she saw Maan's sour expression. "So why were we even fighting before?" she asked.
Maan leaned towards her ear and whispered, "Because I saved you from falling face-first onto the floor. " He was laughing again. And this time Geet couldn't help but laugh along with him.
"You know, you really do look good when you're laughing," Geet said softly.
Maan stopped laughing and smiled, "Thanks."
"So how come you never visited Vicky?" Geet asked. "I mean, you were just one flight away. But you never came."
"I don't know'I guess I just got too caught up with work. I'm not much of a peoples person, you know what I mean?" he turned to Geet.
"Yeah, I could kind of tell," Geet joked.
"Well, not everyone can be a chatterbox like you," Maan said.
"I am not a chatterbox."
"Sure'" Maan said slowly.
"Maan!"
"Geet!" Maan mimicked Geet, turning to her. But she wasn't next to him anymore. "Geet?" he turned back. Geet was standing in the corner tugging her dupatta. "Geet? What are you doing?"
"My dupatta. It's stuck," Geet motioned Maan to come over.
Maan rolled his eyes as he walked over to Geet and then bent over himself to untangle Geet's dupatta from the rose bush.
"Don't pull! You'll rip it!" Geet tried to tell Maan, but he continued to tug at her dupatta. "No, stop!" she yelled when she saw that the dupatta was beginning to rip. "Really, don't pull on it," she pulled Maan's hands away from her dupatta and held them there. "What are you trying to do? Can't you see that it's starting to rip?" she said, tightening her grip on Maan's hand. Geet held Maan's hands tighly with her right hand and proceeded to untangle her dupatta carefully and slowly with her left hand.
"Umm, Geet, I think my hands are going to lose their ability to move."
"What?" Geet turned to him just as she freed her dupatta.
"My hands, I think they're losing blood circulation," Maan said.
"What are you talking about?" Geet looked down at his hands and saw that she was still holding them tightly. "Oh," she gasped and quickly let go of his hands. "Sorry'" she stood up, fixing her dupatta around her neck.
"Its okay," Maan smiled.
They walked for a few minutes in awkward silence.
"Okay," Geet broke the silence, "so now that we're friends, can I ask you some questions?" Geet said loudly to Maan as she started walking forward, "You know, so we get to know each other better?"
"Sure, why not?" Maan replied.
"Okay, so'" Geet thought. "Lets start simple. What's you're favorite color?
"White."
"Why?"
"It makes me think of purity, peace, and" he paused, "' and loyalty," he finished.
"Aren't you going to ask me what my favorite color is?" Geet asked Maan, not noticing how he had paused when he answered her.
"Oh right. What's yours?"
"I used to like red, but I'm more into lighter colors now, like pastel colors I guess," Geet said.
"Why don't you like red anymore?" Maan asked.
The smile on Geet's face disappeared and she became quiet. "I don't know'I guess I've changed a lot. I mean, it used to reflect what I was." He noticed that she had forced a small, but painful smile to her lips. "Excitement, energy, passion, love, desire," she listed.
"And you're not like that anymore?"
"I'm usually pretty quiet and I keep to myself most of the time." She looked up at him.
"You seem like quite the opposite," he said.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yeah. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure quiet people don't constantly argue with other people they've just met," he joked.
"Hah," she laughed. "So tell me, has Mr. Sadu Face ever been in love?"
The smile on Maan's face disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared. "I don't believe in love."
"What? How does that even make sense?" she asked.
"Love only gives you pain. That's all." Geet could see pain in his eyes as he intensely stared into hers. "That's all," he repeated, and walked away.
