Hey Crystal...I agree, although I was laughing my guts out seeing their costume, with khakhi chadda, but the dance reminded me of my days in mumbai....this song made me nostalgic...I have been nostalgic about maharashtra since they started the GC festive, and ganpati baba morya song.....I missed those 9 days that I used to celebrate with pomp and show, and all aarthis.....

and then this fisherman dance.....reminded me of the maharashtrian dance that I used to do with my friends on
galiyaan saakli sonyachi, hee pori konaachi....
the same step, moving ur legs left and right and clicking your fingers...they did exactly this step and I put on this song and danced again, reminding me of my days and made me nostalgic!!

@DD u wont belive this .I stay close to sea and also have lots of fishermen staying close to our house and as a result whenever we used to have any competition at Church level me and my friends we used to choose "koli"(fisherman) song. The advantage of such songs r tat u can do diificult steps and do a fast dance. and coz of this wenever v did such dance we used to get first prize...the prize never went to other group.
hence these songs will always stay close to my heart

@ DD-- this song in bold..has been always been one of my fav songs..i guess ever since i first saw it in the movie Dil hai ki maanta nahin...😆

@ Crystal-- I was really surprised..n infact pleasantly surprised to see CVs play so much attention to these minor details and retain the core maharasthrian culture..just loved the CVs for that...I m not a marathi myself but am vry close to marathi culture n it really felt good to see that culture being retained in this show n eternally thankful that they dint bring in some hit movie/bolly song like other shows do..</font>

do u know this is actully the first liner of a marathi song ugh same tune. I dnt knw
which one came first but I just love both the versions.

I'm glad u made this post crystal. I have no clue about the culture in Maharashtra. 😳 Grew up in the north and then moved to US and so never been to Maharashtra. it's exciting to learn something new. 😃 It's so good to read such posts where the creatives have given importance to the culture by including traditional song/dance. 😃

Well done CVs. 👍🏼
