P.S. I think Prem just moved away so Raj wouldn't have to see him, I just love the way he's matured here 😊 find me a real PJ and I'll get married, no questions asked 😆

Great update Grace.
Preet and Prem conversation was hilarious. Preet is right though. Wives and girlfriend should let their man know what they did wrong, since they are completely clueless 😆.I was so glad Heer asked Prem to stay over. Their confession of love was very sweet. Their love scenes and romantic scenes were are great. I ❤️ those scenes and I still can't stop 😳.Prem and Heer grocery shopping was funny. I can't imagine Prem buying Spongebob Mac n Cheese and he was doing that just to tickle her was very cute. But Grace, my 💔 when Prem saw Raj hugging Heer. I can't imagine what he must have been thinking at that moment.Thank you for the PM. I can't wait to see Prem's reaction and what Heer will tell Rajveer. Looking forward to your next update.

Part 9: Faith
Heer stood there with Raj still holding tightly onto her. She swallowed uncomfortably and gently pulled away from him. "Raj..."
"I'm sorry I couldn't help myself. I know you wanted some time to think. It's been two weeks and I haven't heard from you. I was wondering if I could see you tomorrow night?" he asked.
"Tomorrow night?" Heer repeated. She knew she couldn't run away from the situation that she had somehow put herself into; this triangle. She had to make a clean break with her past if she wanted to move forward with her future. "That sounds fine."
He grinned, "Okay, then I'll pick you up?"
Heer nodded her head and looked at him wondering if he was going to leave or just continue to hang around her. She wanted to go find Prem and explain things to him. Much to her relief Raj waved goodbye and left her in peace. She waited for a couple minutes before heading towards the direction she last saw Prem go. She didn't find him of course and she was becoming anxious with worry. Not sure if Raj was still somewhere in the store shopping she made her way carefully around the supermarket looking for Prem. He was nowhere to be seen. Heer had only one place left to look and rushed out of the store to the parking lot. She sighed in relief when she saw him leaning against the back of his black Lexus RX playing with his cell phone. "Prem," she called.
"You have a nice talk?" he asked rather curtly.
"It's not what you think. He came out of nowhere and then suddenly hugged me," Heer explained.
"That's nice. Well, what can I expect he still is your boyfriend...so stupid me," Prem ranted and turned away from her.
Heer was finding Prem's jealous behavior rather comforting. She slipped her hands around his waist and hugged him from behind. "I'm breaking up with him tomorrow night so you don't have anything to worry about." She heard the rumbling of his response as she laid her ear against his back. "Tomorrow night?" Heer nodded her head and tighten her hug. "I made my choice...you're my future." She felt the strong but gentle touch of his hands covering her hands and removing them around his waist. He turned around and pulled her into a hug. "You've left all your groceries inside."
"It's okay. Raj maybe somewhere still inside the store," Heer replied.
"Dinner at my place then?" Prem suggested.
"I'd like that," Heer said with a smile.
"Okay, so that means you have to handle dessert," Prem said.
Heer pushed him slightly, "Not fair the only thing I can make are cookies."
"But I like cookies," Prem replied.
Heer smiled and gave him a quick peck on the lips. "Let's go." Prem nodded and released her from his arms.
******************************************************************
Heer stood in front of the full length mirror behind her bathroom door and frowned. Raj had called in the morning to inform her that the dress code was black for the night's date. She didn't have any time to shop for a new outfit and was forced to wear the only black dress she owned. There was nothing wrong with her dress in fact she looked absolutely stunning in it. She never failed to get at least a couple of guys to hit on her when she wore it. Veera and the girls referred to it as the power dress; just putting it on made you feel confident and it showed. Heer sighed and went to fix her makeup. She opted for the minimalistic look because she really didn't want to give Raj the wrong idea despite what she was wearing. Heer grabbed her heels from the closet and then sat in the living room anxiously waiting for Raj.
When the doorbell rang, the noise literal scared her into letting out a tiny scream. Heer placed her hand on her chest and did a couple of deep breathing exercises to calm herself before she answered the door. "Wow, you look gorgeous Heer," Raj complemented.
Heer gave a tiny small. "Thanks," she replied noticing how striking he looked in his black suit and tie. "You look very handsome Raj."
He beamed his dimple smile and asked, "So, shall we?" offering his arm. Heer slipped her arm around his with great nervousness, in dread of how the night was going to unfold.
It didn't take long for them to reach their destination. Heer looked around her wondering why they were at the park. Raj escorted her down a secluded path that led to an open but private area surrounded by trees. In the middle of this clearing was a table setup for a romantic dinner for two. The place was decorated as if it was Valentine's Day; the colors of red, white, and pink adorned the table and there where a string of white lights that were hung along some makeshift lamp posts. Heer eyes widen at the sight before her; it was by far the most romantic thing Raj had ever done for her. "Raj, it's beautiful," she said.
"I'm glad you like it," Raj replied.
"But how did you? I mean in the park...how did they allow you?" Heer said.
"It's nice to be friends with a couple of the workers in the park...we were able to work something out but I'm afraid we only have two hours," Raj replied.
"Still...two hours is a good amount of time," Heer said.
Raj grinned and led Heer to the table to sit. He poured them some champagne and then raised his glass to toast. "To us," he simply stated. Heer stared at the glass in her hand feeling horrible. She made no real effort to toast and allowed him to tip his glass towards her hand. She gave a weak smile and politely took a sip. "Raj..."
He smiled and then quickly suggested, "Dance?"
"There's no music," she replied.
"I've got that covered," Raj smirked and pulled out an iPod speaker docking station from behind one of the lamp posts. He pressed play and soon Edwin McCain's I'll Be started to play. (*It's a sweet little song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnGjrudmClQ)
Heer stared at Raj's hand slightly hesitant to take it. She was feeling a whole range of emotions flowing through her. She felt guilty but part of her also felt appreciative for what Raj had done for her; the years of companionship and the love he brought back into her life. She gently slid her hand into his and rose up to dance with him.
The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful
Stop me and steal my breath
And emeralds from mountains thrust towards the sky
Never revealing their depth
Heer moved along with Raj as they swayed to the romantic song. Her heart was beating at an uncomfortable pace. The memories of their times together flashed before her and she couldn't help but smile. Then without warning Raj dipped her in his arms.
And tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above
Heer was staring straight into Raj's hazel eyes the flecks of amber sparking an unspeakable emotion of love. Raj slowly raised Heer back up; their faces only inches apart from each other. The next thing Heer knew Raj planted a kiss on her lips and held her there waiting for a response. She slowly closed her eyes melting into the moment.
And I'll be your cryin' shoulder
I'll be love suicide
And I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life
******************************************************************
Prem sighed as he took a sip of beer and stared at the cards in his hand. "I fold," he finally replied setting them down on the table.
Preet frowned, "What's the matter with you today? You've been folding like crazy ever since we started."
"Can I help it if I don't have the cards?" Prem asked.
"I think you're distracted," Preet replied.
Prem gave him a cross look. "I'm not."
"If he wants to fold let him fold. More for us I say," Harman cheered.
"Yeah, with him out of the way I'll be winning the pot tonight," Prashant agreed.
"Not if I can help it," Rishabh smirked.
"I'm going to get another beer. Any of you want one?" Prem asked. The guys shook their heads and when back to playing poker. Prem went into the kitchen and tossed the empty bottle into the recycling bin. He sighed to himself knowing that Preet was right; he was distracted. His mind couldn't concentrate on the game because he was busy thinking about Heer and what was going on tonight. She was supposed to be breaking up with Raj and even though he knew she had chosen him; he still had this irrational fear that she was going to leave him. He grabbed himself another beer and went back into the dining room to get the bottle opener. As he was about to sit down the doorbell suddenly rang. The guys all grumbled, "Door!" commanding Prem to go and see who it was as they were too preoccupied with their game. "Yeah, I know. Don't have to yell," he replied as he walked to the front door.
Without looking through the peep hole Prem just opened the door and was greeted by the most breathtaking sight he'd ever seen. His eyes lingered at the way her black dress enhanced her beautiful feminine figure and the slight v-neck dip that showed just enough cleavage without giving everything away. He stood there for several seconds admiring her and then furrowed his eyebrows wondering why she had to wear that dress tonight.
Heer stared at Prem wondering why he was acting mute and not inviting her in. She walked past him into the house and then realized he was having poker night with the guys. "Hi Heer!" Preet yelled when he noticed her walking in. The rest of the guys at the table turned their heads toward the entrance way and couldn't help but slightly gawk at the beautiful woman that was gracing them with her presence. "Oh, guys' poker night...I guess I should leave then," she said.
"No, I was just about to sit this game out...hey why don't you take my seat?" Preet replied. The rest of the guys glanced at him wondering what he was up to. "You play poker? If not it's okay I'll coach you." Heer looked at Prem who just silently closed the door. "You guys don't mind, right?" Preet asked. The guys at the table looked at each other and smiled a bit amused that this attractive woman was about to join them in poker. "No," the rest of the guys responded.
An hour later Heer sat in her chair smiling at the large pot of poker chips she had collected. Preet stared at her wondering how she caught onto the game so quickly. He had only coached her through a couple of rounds and she was already dominating the game. He bit his lower lip and decided he would call her offer and threw down some of his poker chips. Heer nodded and laid her cards down on the table. She had a Full House. Preet laughed amazed at the outcome. "I only have a Flush," he said.
"Heer wins again," Prashant replied.
"That was incredible," Rishabh uttered.
"She's practically cleaned everyone out," Harman said.
"How did you get so good?" Preet asked in disbelief. "Guess that goes to show how good of a teacher I am." The entire table stared at Prem and Heer when they suddenly burst into laughter. "What's so funny?" Preet asked.
"Oh man, did you guys get schooled," Prem replied.
"What are you talking about?" Rishabh asked.
"Heer knows how to play poker," Prem laughed. "And here you guys were giving her all these tips and hints...haha..."
"Oh maaan," Prashant whined.
"So that's why you sat out?!" Preet yelled.
"Who did you think taught me?" Heer replied. Prem snickered as a bunch of cards went flying his way.
"Figures..." Harman said shaking his head. "Man, if only Maya would take some interest and learn how to play poker but no she's too busy with her shopping."
"At least you got a girl," Prashant replied.
"Ah, quit your whining. I'm single and I'm loving it. I don't have to worry about fighting, commitment, nothing...it's beautiful," Rishabh said.
"Hey Heer you don't have anyone in your circle of friends that are single and ready to mingle?" Preet asked.
"There are two," Heer answered.
"Awesome, there you go Prashant," Preet said. "We should have a little get together sometime soon. Prem can cook us food and we can try to set these two up."
"Hey why are you including me in this?" Rishabh asked. "I told you I'm fine with being single."
"Just include him...he's just saying this stuff because he hasn't had a date in awhile," Preet off handedly remarked to Heer. He then glanced at his watch. "Well, boys it's been nice but I've got to go home."
"This early?" Prashant replied.
"Married life," Preet simply stated.
"I got to get going too," Harman said. "I have to wake up early tomorrow to help Maya move into her new apartment."
"Looks like the party is wrapping up," Rishabh said and started heading to the door. "It was really nice meeting you Heer."
"You too," she replied with a smile.
"Yea, we'll be seeing you around," Prashant said.
"For the next poker night, right?" Harman joked.
"I don't know we will see about that," Heer replied looking at Prem.
They guys bid their farewells and left. Prem closed the door and glanced at Heer but then didn't say a word and went directly to the dining room to clean up. Heer stared at him wondering why he was suddenly giving her the cold shoulder. She went into the dining room to help him clean and was trying to decide if she should say something first about the night's events when Prem finally spoke, "Have fun with Raj tonight? He'd like the dress?"
Heer understood the biting sarcasm in his comments and realized what was irking him. She knew she needed to calm him down but for whatever reason she responded with, "Yes. Why you don't like it?" Prem gave her a hard stare and then walked into the kitchen to dump the beer bottles into the recycling bin. "Prem..." she softly spoke knowing she had probably gone too far.
"Is this some kind of game to you? Who wears something like that to go and breakup with someone? Wait, this is a game isn't it? This was your plan all along to make me think I got you back when I didn't and you're just messing with me to get your revenge...and you're actually going to dump me and stay with Raj..." Prem ranted as all the irrational fears inside of his head just started emptying out. Normally Heer would be yelling at him but for once she was very calm and found this oddly amusing. Prem was acting like she normally did jumping to conclusions and making things worse than they seemed. She couldn't help herself and started laughing a little at his behavior which of course inflamed his anger. "I'm right aren't I?" he continued. "This was all just a game...I fell for it too! All those words of love and saying how I was your future were lies weren't they?"
Heer placed her hand on his cheek, "Stop being silly Prem. I broke up with Raj."
He blinked and looked at her as his anger suddenly subsided, "You did?"
------------------------------*Flash Back*-------------------------------
Heer slowly closed her eyes as Raj continued to kiss her. She found it strange how it didn't feel the same. It was sweet but the magic was lost. She opened her eyes and felt Raj pull away from her. "You're still in love with him," he simply replied.
Heer stared at him wondering how he knew. "Raj...I..."
"I should have known. When I saw you that day with him at the cafe...and then later when you told me that you wanted to take a break. I don't know why but I just thought what we shared would be a lot stronger than your memories of him. I had faith that you would come back to me. But I guess I was on the losing end the moment he stepped back into your life. Guess there really is some truth to the saying 'nice guys finish last'," Raj explained.
"You hate me?" Heer asked timidly.
"How can I hate you?" Raj replied.
His response only made Heer feel worse. "I'm so sorry Raj. I don't deserve you," she said. "You were always there for me and I treated you like this."
Raj sighed, "There isn't much we can do about it is there? I just hope he knows what he's got this time around."
Heer gave an appreciative grin. "I'm sorry Raj but I have to go."
He nodded and watched her walk away.
--------------------------*End of Flash Back*--------------------------
"You think I'm spineless?" Heer asked. Prem shook his head. "Now I demand an apology for you acting stupid."
Prem sheepishly lowered his head and mumbled, "I'm sorry. But why did you have to wear that dress?"
"What's wrong with my dress?" Heer replied acting innocently.
Prem narrowed his eyes, "Don't act like you don't know. I don't want you wearing that to meet anyone---"
"Except you?" Heer finished for him with a slight grin.
Prem paused and arched his eyebrow, "Actually I was going to say you can't wear it without me being with you. I saw how the guys were secretly staring at you tonight...I can only imagine what you go through when you are by yourself."
Heer smirked, "I guess I'll take that as a compliment." She slipped her arms around his neck and gave him a tender kiss. "I'm all yours now Mr. Juneja."
"And I'm all yours Ms. Maan," Prem replied and kissed her.
Heer savored the way their lips moved against one another and the colliding of their tongues in a sensual pace. She wanted more but she had another issue to address and pulled away much to Prem's disappointment. She rested her hands on his chest and said, "Prem, I'm starving...is there anything to eat?"
He looked at her a bit perplexed. "You ate like half a bowl of pretzels."
"I want real food. I broke up with Raj before eating anything and I came straight here," she replied.
Prem chuckled, "Okay I'll whip you up something to eat."
"Thank you!" Heer cheered and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
******************************************************************
Prem fidgeted nervously underneath the gaze of Heer's close friends. "Hi," he meekly greeted.
The girls gave him a hard look over causing him to swallow uncomfortably.
"Nice to finally meet you...I'm Veera."
"Hi, I'm Ashlesha."
"I'm Sanjana."
Prem nodded and then started panicking trying to think of something to talk about. He felt a cold sweat rising and coughed to mask his nerves. He figured Heer had probably told them about their past relationship issues and he knew they more than likely didn't think very highly of him. He could see by the way Veera was looking at him she was going to be a tough one to please. Ashlesha and Sanjana seemed a bit more friendly and perhaps more willing to give him a chance. "So, the weather's really nice today," Prem said just to break the silence. The girls just politely nodded but didn't add anything further to the comment. "Hey Prem how high is the heat suppose to be on the grill? The chicken's kind of turning black." Prem inwardly smiled as he heard Preet's voice. He was so glad he came to interrupt them with a cooking issue. "Sorry, I have to go save the chicken before Preet burns everything," he apologized and left.
Heer walked into the living room carrying the replenished chip bowl and placed it down on the coffee table were some guests were sitting. She smiled and then joined the girls to inquire how it went with Prem. "So?" she asked nervously.
"Nothing much to say I'm afraid," Veera replied. "He said two things to us before he had to go and save the chicken."
"Oh," Heer replied rather disappointed. "Well, the party just started you guys will have plenty of chances to talk to him."
"All I'll say is if he makes you happy then I'm happy for you," Sanjana said.
"Thanks," Heer replied with a grateful smile. "Oh, let me you introduce you and Ashlesha to Prashant and Rishabh."
"You're not seriously trying to set us up are you?" Ashlesha asked.
"It wasn't really my idea. It was Preet's. Anyways what's the harm in making a new friend...if things work out well, there you go...if not then you've just made a new friend," Heer replied.
"I suppose," Ashlesha sighed.
******************************************************************
Several hours later the party was in full swing the guests mingled with each other chatting with old friends and meeting new ones. Prem grinned as he came out of the kitchen and noticed Heer standing at the dining room table refilling the fruit plate. He stealthily made his way towards her. "Hey," he whispered into her ear. "I think I forgot to tell you how beautiful you look today."
Heer smiled at hearing his voice. "Why do I have a feeling you're trying to butter me up for something?"
"Is it working?" he huskily replied.
"We'll see..." she simply answered.
"So how am I doing with the girls? I don't think Veera likes me too much," Prem said.
"She loved the tandoori chicken you made," Heer replied.
"Does that mean I should carry around tandoori chicken whenever I met her?" Prem replied.
Heer giggled. "I don't that's going to work."
"Didn't think so," Prem said clicking his tongue in disappointment.
"Don't worry. Veera's a bit of a tough nut to crack but Ashlesha and Sanjana are warming up to you," Heer said.
"Okay. I guess I'll just have to take one thing at a time. I'll just focus on the most important one right now," Prem replied and gently placed at kiss on her cheek causing her to smile. "So what's the prognosis on the singles?"
"Well, turns out Sanjana and Rishabh may be distant cousins. They're going to call home and check with the parents about the family line. Sanjana and Prashant are getting along really well. And despite what Mr. Single says, Rishabh seems to be enjoying Ashlesha's company. So I would say we're off to a pretty good start," Heer informed.
"If this works out maybe you and Preet can open up a side business in matchmaking," Prem laughed causing Heer to playfully push him with her elbow. He slipped his hands around her waist and held her firmly, "What, you don't think it's a good idea?"
"Prem let go of me before someone sees," Heer said.
"They know we are dating...besides they're all busy with each other...no one's going to notice," Prem replied ready to plant another kiss on her cheek.
"Hey, why don't you two stop flirting with each other and join the party?" Preet smirked.
"Preet," Meher warned and then smiled at Heer who was blushing slightly. "I totally forgot to tell you want I bought yesterday...ran into this huge sale..."
"Really?" Heer replied and shoved the bowl she had been holding into Prem's hands to run off and gossip with Meher.
Prem smiled cheekily at Preet and then shoved the bowl into his stomach in an act of revenge for ruining his moment with Heer. Preet just smiled taking the hit and held the bowl as Prem grumbled off to go and talk to some guests. "Hey, more pineapple...awesome," Preet said to himself as he took some slices and devoured them on the spot.
