The Modi Family

I got thinking about this family today and realized that the entire family are like robots. They barely interact with each other - only on the most topical level. There is zero warmth in the family. In the other serials I've watched (Geet, Tere Liye, DMG) the people are at least human. This entire family needs to be beamed up to the mothership!

Who would want to be part of such a family? Who cares if they have money. At the present, that's all they have. Not one member of this family has a decent/healthy relationship! None of the marrieds act married (well, poor Jigar is trying his best with his ice queen.) Not even Aham/Kinjal/Jigar have a normal sibling relationship. It's weird!

Let's try and name things NORMAL families do together that this ABnormal family does not. Please add to the list...'

1. Decent conversations. Has Koki ever said two words to Parag? Or Hetal to Chirag? No wonder the kids don't know what to do! There is no example!

2. Watch TV together

3. Play games

4. Go to the movies together

5. Snuggle on the couch ( I realize that they are all grown ups, but heck, I'm 47 and I still snuggle with my dad on the couch!)

6. Relax

7. Go shopping together

8. Family outings

9. There's no joking around. No acting silly.

10. There's no laughter in this home. (I think this is what makes me saddest...)

Your thougths?

i think one reason being that there is two groups in the family, male and female. We hardly see any of the male characters interacting. also their daily routine is exactly the same. We also see the same places in the house all day and every day. Kitchen, dining, mandhir, living or koki's room. Sometimes Rashi or Gopi's room. But otherwise, I think the only time they went out was to the Naagpacham pooja. Also, the communication in the house is either to give directions or order, taunting one another or yelling. No other types of conversations occur. Hetal and Koki's relationship felt like it was deeper then what appeared in the start of the serial, but now...its like such bad vibes between them. I have a feeling that Hetal is eventually going to ask for a batwara (spliting in the house) because Koki continuously blames her bahu, Rashi. So the warmth that was there is no longer there. Its become love/hate relationship, which wasn't the case before. Before at least Hetal brushed it off, she also tried to explain multiple times that Koki is very sweet from heart and so forth. But lately all she does is look down and frown. Don't know if it is toward Koki or Rashi. But she doesn't seem the least bit happy. So, everyone is changing. Its always about status in the house, traditions and never to make a mistake. If god forbid you did, you won't hear the end of it. That is y the love in the family is so invisible.
