After having a successful re-run in Delhi last month, Vinta Nanda is now planning to release WHITE NOISE in Jaipur and Chandigarh. "I am quite happy with the re-run response to the film. The first run of the film was stalled due to the legal problems it faced but fortunately small films have now got an avenue where they can be re-released with a new marketing strategy," she reveals.
The decision to re-release the film a second time happened quite unexpectedly when a new mall in Noida by the name of Spice World invited the film for a special screening. "The response was so overwhelming that the management out there suggested that I re-release the film once again and explore its repeat run potential," she says.
Currently, Vinta is in Delhi where she launched the Project Smitha production, GENDER BENDER, directed by Pujita Chaudhary. The documentary film, which discusses the achievements of women in male dominated territories was launched at the Indian Habitat Centre by the Honorable Union Finance Minister, P.Chidambaram yesterday. Vinta is now planning to tie up with all the major theatres in Delhi for the screening of the film. "Most of us never tend to take the documentaries that appear before the feature films seriously enough simply because they don't quite touch our conscience. I hope films like GENDER BENDER make a difference," she says.
