Man it's sad that people would slit their wrists for DMG. *shudders*

If anything, politicians should be contacted and asked to shut down this show because not only does it make a mockery of doctors, but it also drives people into attempting suicide in the name of love for actors/characters/couples. 🤔

@Sarah: Unless we have an official confirmation that MNS DID get involved with the whole censoring of AR's supposedly censorship-worthy scenes I would not like to assume that they are involved. Although I would like to say it is very very sad IF the speculation that some fans contacted MNS just so that they don't have to see what they don't like in a fictional show is true. I will keep aside my opinions about morality, extra marital affairs, DMG and MNS in general but this level of intolerant behavior for a FICTIONAL show isn't speaking too well of the so-called loyal fans of this show. I am sorry to say this but if THIS is the extent to which DMG is affecting young minds I'd rather that this show go off air because contacting people like MNS, slitting wrists etc., just for a stupid show with dumb scenes is sending out disturbing signals and since the show in question is responsible for all this it needs to be taken off air pronto. Honestly I am afraid how these people will face real life problems which are far more serious when they show such reactions to something that doesn't even matter and is not even a part of their life - I know that these fans claim that this show and its characters are a part of their life (which is also very disturbing as these people seem to have lost their touch with reality which might prove to be dangerous to themselves and the society in the long run) but the FACT remains that it is NOT. Armaan/Riddhima/Siddharth or any of the characters are NOT more important than your parents, siblings, loved ones and friends who are REAL and who ACTUALLY deserve your time and energy - frankly I am APPALLED to hear that someone slashed their wrists for a mere show 😲 - if this is true I am only feeling for the parents and loved ones of that person, it is a very sad state of affairs. DMG is just fiction, it is an illusion, it is unreal and what is not real is NOT REAL and hence is not worth your time or thought let alone strong reactions, petitions and what not - period! It is HIGH TIME everyone woke up to this FACT.

P.S: I am particularly stressing on the words FACT and REAL time and again!

I believe that show is also glorifying "unwed pregnancies".....kahaan ho moral police waalon?? You've got new material....time to call the MNS ppl again.

when did I say that? in my personal opinion, it's ridiculous and pretty laughable to involve a political party for a show, but hey, what do you plan to do? knock some sense into hardcore fans by telling them how stupid it sounds? worse things have been done in the name of fandom, albeit fandoms of a much larger scale like twilight. heck some fans threatened to bomb stephenie meyer's residence if she made bella sleep with jacob. now ofcourse, if a party like MNS existed in USA, then the entire country would have been wiped out by now 😆
what I'm trying to say is that yes, it is stupid and ridiculous, but at the end of the day people can do whatever they like. if someone wants to sit around and make calls to political parties for the sake of a show, fine, who cares? and parties like MNS thrive on glorification of non-issues, anyway. so big deal.

It was totally ridiculous and foolish thing to do!!! It was wrong in many grounds
1. a very wrong approch for fans to deal with the situation!! Next What?? Give supar to kill the CVs and actors?? If they wanted to object about adultery, they should have raised a complain to the Censor board!!!
2. Involve the self appointed moral police MS who are already notorious for interfering wih the Creative Freedom.
3. Giving out a wrong message to the brain dead fans that you MUST do whatever it takes to save your fav couple!!!!! Next What??

I'm not an EMA supporter either but my post wasn't about whether DMG should show a married woman cheating on her spouse. It was about the political involvement in the current track. I personally don't think it was offensive enough (considering it's just a soap) to bring people who deal with dire issues surrounding real people, into it.

You do bring up a great point about DMG glorifying stuff that would otherwise be considered unethical and/or immoral by the real life standards. So true!

Well in my opinion, involving politicians for the fictional show like DMG is the worst thing to do, but how about those politicians who got involve into this matter just because some immature people asked them to look into it? I am not trying to act as an advocate for those fans who ran to politicians seeking help, but I see a reason for them to do it. Though I recently became active to IF and mostly in DMG forum, I have observed how far and low certain fans can go for the sake of their fav couples, Hence, keeping them on mind, I am not surprise that they did call politicians, but what's wrong with these leaders?! That has shocked me the most. Is it worth to blame fans but not politicians?!

Again, I was just agreeing with the fact that they (Cinevistaas) at least did not fully showed the adultery scene but not with the politicians stuff. It's not worth to involve politicians or anyone for the fictional show. However, not everyone thinks the way you or I do, so it might be all right for those people who have called those so called politicians.

these serials cash on something that transcends beyond entertainment too - manipulation. they can make EMA look the most pure thing in the world and make a simple relationship look like the most disgusting event to have taken place. they sell whatever they show, and they show whatever sells.
as far as the whole MNS thing is concerned, there is not much that can be done about rabid fans. they do what they have to. and indian political parties are looking for raw flesh to sink their teeth into, anyway.

@ bold - Ain't that the truth! In DMG's case it practically thrives on the influence that the show has on its viewers. Because these creatives have a fanbase of impressionable young minds they think they can pass off any retarded nonsense as the word of God.

@ blue - Granted that there's nothing that can be done, but the least one can do is discourage such ideas because they're not just a waste of time/effort, but also an indication of the fact that what started out as a light-hearted medical drama has now come to have a disturbing level of influence on real lives!

@ bold - Of course not. The politicians are as much to blame (if not more) as the fans. They are such a lost cause that I don't even consider it worth my time to comment on what falls where on their priority list. I find it laughable the they actually took time out to meddle with a TV show when there are billions out there in need of their help. Their stupidity is such an obvious fact in this case that I figured it was needless to point it out, LOL!

@ blue - True. I personally don't support it by any means, but yes it's their choice at the end of the day.

Amen to that, Kavya! The more posts I read, the more I'm convinced that this had less to do with morals. It was mostly about not wanting a couple to have scenes together. I wonder why this show is still on air. It's done more harm than good anyway. It's a sad state of affairs when a TV show affects people to this extent. Wanting to go to such extremes either to spite an opposing fanbase or to see your favourites together - what's the point? Ten years from now DMG ka koi naam-o-nishan bhi nahin hoga. Wake up and smell the coffee, people! Neither the creatives nor the actors care about the show. They just want their fame and money. They're only stringing you along for their own benefit.
