Nice subtlety about papita knowledge

While we are all going ga-ga over Maan's knowledge of pregnancy related issue (read 'papita' 😊 ), I think there was a nice subtlety in the way it was portrayed. Look at what Geek and Maan exactly thought

Geet: Pregnancy ke time par papita khana shayad galat hota hai.

Maan: Pregnancy mein to bade papita khane se mana karte hain.

I think it was very natural. Neither Geet, nor Maan really know for sure. (Geet is after all a 18 year old with nobody to advice her!). Geet says "shayad". Maan thinks of what he has heard the elders talking. Even my reaction when I saw dadi holding papita was "Serials mein dekha hai ki pregnancy mein papita nahin khate" 😛

So, I think it was nicely and naturally portrayed. They are not some experienced elders. But young people trying to do their best.

ya and it was soo cute when he quickly ate geet's share of papaya's hiding it from dadi..

And here the CVs have been clever in not imparting the false belief that papaya should not be eaten during pregnancy since that is not scientifically correct. So they have conveyed it as a thought process of the leads in the best of their knowledge.

Still, I'm surprised that Maan would have heard any' bade' saying something like this....in what circumstances would he have heard this? There are no children in his house...so the bade people around him are unlikely say that!

While the scene following that was hilarious, I just wish the Cvs went about it a different way....for eg: Maan could have read the tension in Geet's eyes and guessed that papita must be a no-no during pregnancy or something.


I asked my husband if he knew that papita's dangerous for pregnant women...he said he never knew that....and he's has three neices....

Apart from the papita-eating scene, what I loved was the fact that Maan already cares for Geet's baby though he doesn't know it as yet.

He could have just as easily looked the other way and let Geet figure her way out of eating the fruit.
